Welcome December

Well, it's not December as we know it with plans of family get-togethers; worship-services, unexpected visitors and wonderful dinners with friends. But...we carry on and plan for the best.

We are very thankful; lucky that no-one in the family has been ill so far. And we are in full Christmas mode now.

Santa is showing up all over the house. And the 2020 Santa is dressed for comfort.  Lounging pajamas, cozy slippers , hot chocolate and home-baked cookies. Perfect for a pandemic Christmas. He joins a twenty-five year collection of jolly 'ol St. Nick.

The grands have been by to help decorate; the staircase being their proudest display.

Above is my first Santa that started it all. He now has a bad shoulder; the result of being dragged off one Christmas night by our nut-case cat Cali years ago. I eventually found him between the dryer and washer in the laundry area and he was a sight.

Silly Wilson watching the laneway being blown out.

Decisions, decisions...
My granddaughter takes decorating very serious. :-) She changed it up a few times until it was just right. lol

Got to warm up those busy hands.

SANTA is everywhere at Fox Grove.

And outside the kitchen window you can see that since the day Wilson sat watching the show in the driveway, we have lost all our snow.
My favorite little squirrel, the red squirrel, has arrived for lunch.

And I'm ready for hot chocolate in my favorite festive cup.

I'm sure that everyone is getting into the Christmas mood (some snow would help here) and I wish you all a fun and peaceful weekend.

be kind, Deb

  3. Your Santa collection is wonderful! I can tell the grands do an excellent job in decorating the stairs with them. I so love that picture of your grandchild in red pj's warming at the wood stove! That could be a Christmas card! May you and your family stay well and enjoy the season. And please give your very special felines all my love!

  4. Wonderful Santa collection! I imagine each one brings back emotive memories of Christmas gone by. Your helpers (GCs) have done a splendid job of displaying them on the stairs. The 2020 Santa is smashing...I love him! I also have my one and only daughter and grand-daughter with us this year. All well and safe here with us. Such a relief! Lovely photos!! enjoy Amanda x

  5. I started my Christmas mood, last Tuesday,
the first..couple of hours and put up my
crib..the very same crib mia Mama used to
put up when l was child..!

Have'nt had a tree since my daughter went
off to Uni..Goodness! Years ago now! But!
l do have a pink tree about 18inches high,
with bubbles, that sits on the coffee table
under the standard light..been there since
2017..have'nt the heart to put it away...! :).

No snow over here, well, a little up north..
Lifted the lockdown last week, so everyone's
out and about, bumper weekend they say..
And we've got the vaccine starting next week..
So that's good news, if everyone follows the
    rules..might be a 'Happy Christmas'...! :o).

  7. It helps to get into the Christmas mood when I see such fun decorations as you have up. And your "elves" are very busy on the stairs. Hope Cora is better and fun always to see Wilson and then the squirrel. Praying for all to have a wonderful Christmas and stay safe.

  10. Deb!! This is the most beautiful Christmas post ever! and here I am missing it. Oh my gosh; your house, the decorations, the Santas and that staircase and beautiful grandchildren...it all could be pictures in an old fashioned Christmas book. Hopefully, Wilson will get a big snow before Christmas. Hope little Cora is feeling better. Merry Christmas!
