Here is our little Riley contemplating life so far.
"Look at my toes, Nan"
She looks like her nose is itchy in this picture. My son is the proudest dad on the planet.
He's Hot, Hairy & Hell-bent to lead the way.
DID YOU KNOW that cats sleep for 13-18 hours per day. Newborn kittens spend most of their time sleeping. It is nature's way of keeping them in their nest, rather than wandering away into the path of predators. Our senior cats sleep closer to 18 hours a day, especially in this heat. If they are on the deck I leave a large bowl of cold water for them and i actually put sunscreen on Lily's nose and ears because she is a white cat with very sensitive skin. Are you laughing at me?...I think I hear you laughing.=^..^=x5
The cat with the bottle..very funny! Riley...angelic and beautiful! I walk early, like at 6:30 am because when the sun comes up it's just too darn hot! :D
ReplyDeleteWhite kitties in the sun are no laughing matter.
ReplyDeleteWhen we lived at the beach in California, we adopted a wonderful kitty boy who had had both ears removed due to skin cancer. We later had to have a bit of his nose leather removed. The oncologist told us that even sun coming through ourskylight was a problem. We'd follow him about the house putting paper tents over his head. He was such a sun lover!
Wee Riley is growing fast ~ so cute!!
ReplyDeleteThat's a good idea about sunscreen on kitty's nose ~ makes sense! My kitty Banjo only gets outside about twice a year (on a harness and leash) so no fear of sunburn here!! :) I think he sleeps pretty close to 16 hours ~ sigh ~ life of a cat! :)
Have a Happy Day Deb!

Riley is just beautiful! What wonderful pictures!
ReplyDeleteRiley is precious and those toes are just adorable!!...Love the Ozzie photo, staged or not!...Sweet Kane is such a handsome boy...I think it shows how dedicated and loving you are to put sunscreen on Lily; your animal babies are so lucky to have you=kisses to all of them!...Happy day, Deb!
ReplyDeleteLovely pics once again! I love the ones with your beautiful dog Kane. My dog has a lot of pink skin on her nose so she has to be careful of the sun as well.
ReplyDeleteHave a great day, Bonnie
What simply lovely pictures. I love the darling baby and that bottle picture is priceless. Love the sunscreen thing you do.. The kitties are lucky to have you.. Hugs GJ xx
ReplyDeleteIt's so nice to meet you. It has been stinking hot here. (So hot we all stink) My cat is 16 yrs. old. We know she is on her way out but, the vet says she is doing pretty darn good. I have to keep her on antibiotics a lot. Her teeth (what's left of them) are going rotten and giving her Sinus problems. The vet said pulling them and having to put her out would not be good for her. She probably wouldn't make it through the whole thing. She's a great cat. I have noticed she sleeps a ton. Well I will be following you too.
ReplyDeleteRiley is very cute! Ozzie is too and that water looks like a fun way to cool off! Hope you get to meet more of the local kitties and get to take care of them while their staff go on trips!
