Felines & Kitties & Cats....Oh my!

OK....I am officially very busy with my cat-sitting service. Some of the cats are new to me, some I have cared for many times and some only once before. I am so passionate about cats. They are with me 24/7 and yet I learn something new about them every day. They are still a mystery to me and worth all the time and effort I put in to getting to know how they tick. I enjoy every minute of it except where I step in something that I didn't see before I turned the lights on. Yah, that happens. It's not a CATastrophe, it just means that I should start carrying extra socks for me in the cat-bag. Note to self......more socks.

I have always said that a home to me without a cat seems empty. That's because I have never lived a moment of my life without one. And to prove it even more, I am caring for a house without a cat in it and I find myself wanting to pick up the plants, hug them and whisper sweet nothings in their leaves. The house is beautiful but it feels empty to me.
Getting back to the cat-bag, I try to replenish the goodies every month or so.

I have toys, nip, treats, comb & brush, nail-clippers, baggies, can-opener, a scoop, note cards, a pen, cat-hair brush, a book, appropriate calling cards, & my camera.

Everything is organized. Now if I could just keep my own purse in this condition that would be a miracle.  I can't find anything in there!

Did I mention that I met the most beautiful cat that actually took my breath away when I laid eyes on her? She is a mix of Asian breeds and once you look at her all else fades away. She is spectacular and she knows it! Oh yes, you will meet her soon.
Did I mention that I met the sweetest little soul with three legs and a big heart? You'll meet her too. You will love her funny face.

I'm having a great time with the tuxedos and now that I have extra socks in the bag I have no fear of what may lay quiet in the dark. All kitties do that once in awhile. Eat slow kitties....eat slow.

Off to kitty-sit......

Hugs, Deb

  3. We haz a question; That Blasted Woman is taking the gurl & going on *gasp* vacation from us for a whole week! We doesn't know what to do or who's to call!! I thinks you lives too far away but maybe you know someone here in sunny SoCal?

We would appreciate any referrals! Even maybe some tips on what to be careful of when hiring someone. That Woman is very concerned about us and doesn't want to resort to the boarding thing at the V.E.T. (we would hate that too)

  4. Deb-

I really enjoy reading your posts every day about the kitties in your life! You're such a kind person, and all the cats know it.

I have a funny story about going to another cat's house. I once was visiting a relative who had several cats and left my coat and purse on a chair. When I went to leave, one of the cats had peed on the coat AND purse! Ruined the purse, but I managed to wash it out of the coat.

Well, I guess that wasn't such a funny story as much as a strange story!

    ;-)

  5. I can't wait to see this beautiful cat you've been telling us about...... however.....I've never seen an ugly cat.

My 17 year old cat, who I thought was getting close to death...... chased our dog through the house this morning. Made my day!!!

  6. I wish I had a cat sitter like you near me! Like you, I cannot imagine living without cats. They have been such an integral part of my life. As yes, the effects of eating too fast... I cannot tell you how many times I have had to tell my Bagheera to eat slowly.

    Have a great weekend!

  8. I bet that Asian mix cat is amazing.

And I know what you mean about continually learning something new from your kitties. I find mine have little habits which they repeat over and over - then suddenly they will start a new habit/behavior. It's amazing.

For all you folks and animals reading this my blog has stories and information helpful for cat helpers everywhere. Pass it on to your human ‘beans!

I pray that all cat blogosphere kitties stay happy and healthy!

  9. I also wish I had a cat sitter like you near me as well. You can see the love you have for cats (and their love for YOU) on your face and theirs.

You are the "Mary Poppins" of the cat world, that is for sure!

  11. I'm chuckling here on the socks. Poor Gypsy has been havign trouble lately -- hurling more (a couple of nights ago on the jeans I didn't hang up, which I guess will teach me), and even had his first accident in the house yesterday. Yes, I'm calling the vet. Thing is, the hurlies? I generally discover them on the patterned rug when company is present, in the middle of the night, or when I get home and yes, am in my socks!

You are such a fun cat sitter! Too bad you don't commute to mid-Michigan!
