It is a year today that our Kane left us; one of the hardest days of my life.
Kane knew many 'words' and always reacted so sweetly to "I love you, Kanie." He would lick my face; the only time he would do that. I suppose it was the tone of my voice but I like to think he knew the meaning of those words.
"We love you, Kanie, and miss you everyday.
Thank you for being our sweet dog."
"Be a good boy." xo

Oh Deb, I send warm and kind thoughts as you remember your dear Kane today.
ReplyDeleteWhen they know your voice, when they know your words, it shows their intelligence, their personalities, and makes it even worse when they have to go. When you can talk to them, and they talk back, even without words, they become friends, family. Then it's like losing a part of yourself. Kane was fortunate to have you, and vice versa.
ReplyDeleteKane knew very well what your words meant and he loved you with all his heart. Gentle hugs.
ReplyDeleteIt is always so hard. They are our precious little fur kids. He seemed like a sweet boy. I know you miss him.
ReplyDeleteOwwww sweet Kane is in heaven playing with our Iris......our sweet dogs we never forget.....❤️❤️❤️
ReplyDeleteAw, I'm so sorry Deb, I remember that day and I cried along with you. xo
ReplyDeleteDear Deb....Tears here as I read this post. And, of course, "he knew"! I loved your Kane from afar. He was such a beautiful dog and your love for him shows in every photo you share of the two of you together. Sending you and the Retired Guy loving thoughts from Nebraska ><>
ReplyDeleteOur Sheltie left us this year aged 12. There's not a day goes past without thinking of him. Just little things that were our
