This whale was playing with us, I have no doubt about that.
That is called 'breaching' when they lift their whole body right out of the water. Click on the link below to see the video clip from which we took this still.

It is really hard to photograph whales. Addie did a great job with the humpback! And sometimes you go out and see none at all, which can be a little frustrating. :)
