Molly was rescued off the street, pregnant and hungry.
Molly is now the mommy of nine (yes, nine) kittens. She is not much more than a kitten herself and this road ahead for her will not be an easy one. I don't have too much info right now except to say that the rescue is very concerned and is hoping that all the kittens and Molly will do ok. I'll keep you posted as I learn more. Please keep her in your thoughts and prayers. This will be costly now for the rescue as Molly will need to be supplemented with KMR for added calcium immediately and the kittens will soon need it, too. KMR is a milk-replacement for kittens. If you would like to help, The Ottawa Cat Rescue Network http://www.catrescuenetwork.org/ would appreciate any donation that you could make towards the care of Molly and her 9 babes. Thank you.
Good Golly, Miss Molly! That's a platoon of kits!
ReplyDeletePoor little thing, I do hope she does okay, I have just made a donation to help her.
ReplyDeleteOur Polly only had 4 and she fed them until they were 14 week old quite voluntarily before kicking them off.
Look forward to an update and hope is positive.

I know they will appreciate that so much, Briony. Thank you.
DeleteStories such as this one always make me wish that I could do more to help. Our 'dropped off' cats have increased our cat population to a rather costly amount each month for food, litter and flea prevention.
ReplyDeleteMany years ago I had a tiny cat who became pregnant before I could take her to be spayed. She produced 7 kittens. I phoned an acquaintance who raised Siamese cats. She came and took away 2 or 3 of the newborns, feeling it was the kindest thing for all--but it was difficult.
Cod bless her and the kitties! Nine is an amazing number. I'm sorry we can't help with money.
ReplyDeletePoor wee Molly. I'm happy she and her babes are safe and warm. And of course Addy and Lucky will be donating a few dollars to help her out. =^..^=
ReplyDeleteI just made a small donation. Holy cow, 9 kittens. And she is such a skinny little thing!
ReplyDeleteBTW love your new banner :)
Wow, what a lot of kittens. Molly is so fortunate to be where she will get the help she needs. We hope she and all the kittens thrive.
ReplyDeleteHoly Mouses!! Miss Molly is a big Momma now! I will share on FB as I cannot help with money right now. paw hugs, Savannah
ReplyDeleteI hope it all works out for Molly and her brood...
ReplyDeleteMolly has touched my heart and poor little thing with nine kittens! Way too many for a little girl like her. I'm going to make a donation to help her! Thanks for keeping us informed Deb!
ReplyDeletehugs, Linda
Donation made.
ReplyDeleteI went to make a donation but my Pay Pal seems to have major non recognition issues. We'd like to donate in memory of Ginger Jasper. Could they take a U.S. Money order?
ReplyDeleteThanks for finding out for us.
Kari, I'm sure they could. Here's their website:

I never have a problem cashing a U.S. Money order in Canada. :)
Thanks a lot, Knatolee. We'll contact them and get a M. O.
DeleteOff.
NINE ! ? ! I don't think I've heard of many cats having 9.It sounds like she is in very good hands, as are her kittens. Will you post updates on her ?
ReplyDeleteOh this poor kitten. Now a mother of nine..cannot imagine how difficult this must have been for such a young cat. It is a prayer answered that she was rescued at all. I will keep them all in prayer.
ReplyDeletePoor Molly....this must have been very difficult for such a young cat. It was a miracle she was rescued and that was the first prayer answered. I will keep her and the babies in my prayers.
ReplyDeleteDonation sent, along with good thoughts. So many kittens for such a tiny baby!!!
ReplyDeleteHi deb I love your blog. Just donated.
ReplyDeleteOh sweet Molly. I do hope she makes it ok along with the kittens and that they can find good homes for them all.
ReplyDeleteThank you for your post about sweet little Molly. She has been and will be in our prayers... and now her 9 kittens, too! I hope they can be okay... what a rough start in life for the 10 of them. Bless all who care for them and all the needy cats and dogs.
