And now....our little mommy, Molly

Molly was rescued off the street, pregnant and hungry.
Molly is now the mommy of nine (yes, nine) kittens. She is not much more than a kitten herself and this road ahead for her will not be an easy one. I don't have too much info right now except to say that the rescue is very concerned and is hoping that all the kittens and Molly will do ok. I'll keep you posted as I learn more. Please keep her in your thoughts and prayers. This will be costly now for the rescue as Molly will need to be supplemented with KMR for added calcium immediately and the kittens will soon need it, too. KMR is a milk-replacement for kittens. If you would like to help, The Ottawa Cat Rescue Network  http://www.catrescuenetwork.org/  would appreciate any donation that you could make towards the care of Molly and her 9 babes. Thank you.

  2. Poor little thing, I do hope she does okay, I have just made a donation to help her.
Our Polly only had 4 and she fed them until they were 14 week old quite voluntarily before kicking them off.
Look forward to an update and hope is positive.

  3. Stories such as this one always make me wish that I could do more to help. Our 'dropped off' cats have increased our cat population to a rather costly amount each month for food, litter and flea prevention.
Many years ago I had a tiny cat who became pregnant before I could take her to be spayed. She produced 7 kittens. I phoned an acquaintance who raised Siamese cats. She came and took away 2 or 3 of the newborns, feeling it was the kindest thing for all--but it was difficult.

  11. I went to make a donation but my Pay Pal seems to have major non recognition issues. We'd like to donate in memory of Ginger Jasper. Could they take a U.S. Money order?
Thanks for finding out for us.

  13. Oh this poor kitten. Now a mother of nine..cannot imagine how difficult this must have been for such a young cat. It is a prayer answered that she was rescued at all. I will keep them all in prayer.

  14. Poor Molly....this must have been very difficult for such a young cat. It was a miracle she was rescued and that was the first prayer answered. I will keep her and the babies in my prayers.
