Crazy for Dishes

I love china-cabinets. Even as a young child I was always fascinated by all the pretty dishes that they held and there were usually unexpected surprises amongst the dishes. My grandmother had little ornaments (miniatures) sitting in her cabinet and I would spend hours examining them. Some had moving parts like one that had a little china girl swinging on a tree swing. There were the miniature animals that she would collect from the tea boxes that were so cute. Sometimes her candy dish inside the cabinet would be full of wrapped delights. SCORE! I am still fascinated by china cabinets and if I was visiting you I would be peaking in yours. .

I am in the market for one. Before I spend too much I am going to go on Kijiji and CraigsList to try to get one for a song.
It has been raining and the temperature has really dropped so no more humidity. Whew!
I am back from caring for Simba (Abyssinian), Albert & Midnight (both short-haired black) and they are doing great. Simba is so helpful in his kitchen and is always supervising my visits. He's a hoot!   The Abyssinian cat looks a lot like a tiny fox. He is a rusty red with very sharp features. Oh, he is quite spectacular. I have a few deliveries of doggie delights to do in some of the little towns in our area. I just may check out the antique stores for a china cabinet but it has to be a great deal.

  1. Hi Deb! Oh, I adore seeing others china cabinets too! These are some really sweet ones. I too love that blue and one the green one!
I found the little china cabinet in my breakfast room on Craislist a few years back for a little over $100! I was in hog heaven. The man was so nice whom I bought it from and he even delivered it and brought it inside on a dolly! I love Craigslist!
    Good luck on your search!
You'll have to take a picture of the fox like kitty!!
    Be a sweetie,

  4. I hope you find what you're looking for. I know, it'll be one of those, "I'll know it when I see it" things. Are you into refinishing pieces? I always read about or see people who've found items for next-to-nothing and then refinished them and turned them into something spectacular.

Good luck and have a great weekend.
