My only sunshine
At 17 years of age Lily would be 84 (human years)
At 24 years of age Mr. Ed would be over 96 (human years)
It's obvious that Lily goes for the 'older guy' :)
I'm longing for the hot days of summer with long walks & sandals, gardens & picnics and cold beer (not for me, thanks) iced-tea and fresh picked fruit.
Here is my favorite picture of our dog, Kane enjoying a sunny day. All four off the ground. :)
Another one of my sun-worshipers. This face speaks volumes.
Stay warm. It's reasonably cold and dark and slushy here. It's been a really wet winter so far. Blah!

Great post. Yes, we all need sunshine! Love it!
ReplyDeleteOh how I adore Lily & Mr. Ed. And Sierra, & Audrey & well, you get the picture. Lovely sunshine indeed.
ReplyDeleteWe had over 80 this weekend & all the kitties were flat out in the grass (me too, but I was shaded). Some were on the blanket and loving the partial sun while the rest were 'hiding' in the long grass. It's days like that with all 6 of them outside enjoying the weather and their 'cat-ness' that are so special.
oh my goodness I loved this post today and the song and those beautiful sun loving babys..and I love how those two love to snuggle..just warms my heart.;)
ReplyDeleteLove all these pictures! Great action shot of your dog!!! That's so wonderful your cats are having such long lives--great job keeping them healthy. I think we might get some sun today--at least the temperatures should be in the 50s which is really good for winter in Cleveland!
ReplyDeleteYour animals all look so happy and content. I hope you have sunshine soon!
ReplyDeleteSunny days are the best choice for the happy life!!!
ReplyDeleteAwww that was my Grandpa's favorite song,my little guy sang it at my Mom's memorial and I can't think of a sweeter way to see the words to it displayed than with these bathing beauties!! Great post and blah winter down here in Mich too ;P!!
ReplyDeleteOhhh - I do love sub puddles. It just makes you feel so warm and cozy all over.
ReplyDeleteThat brought a tear to my eye and a lump to my throat. I used to sing that song to my beloved Byron..she died at age 20...whenever I hear that song I remember her.

Every time I see Lily and Mr Ed cuddled up together my heart gets warm sparkles =)
ReplyDeleteWe should all be so lucky as to have the life and share the love of Ed and Lily.
ReplyDeleteI think about the lovely white cat Lumina who, at 12 years, finds herself with limited prospects for a new home. Wish she could join us.
What I want to know is how it is that animals always know exactly where the best sunny spots will be ! My lot seem to know that the clouds will clear almost before they do and appear as if by magic from the four corners of the house to soak up the sun!
ReplyDeleteWonderful photos, Deb. I am in love with Mr. Ed!
ReplyDeleteDeb these photos make me smile. Charlie loves his sun also and finds that perfect place in front of the window. All your furries are so sweet...I love the oldies as well as the babies! Hugs, Linda
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely - we all need the sun. Today was warm here in NY state and sunny. Heaven! I'm always amazed at the difference it makes in my mood.

Hey, you cat-sit my old cats (well my mom's(Susan) cats - not that they liked me much) Just wondering how far out of C.P you go? I'm getting married at the end of this year and need to figure out what I'm doing with my kitties during our honeymoon. We'll be in Barrhaven. Please let me know. Thanks. I really enjoy your blog and seeing pics of Lucky occasionally. I also really appreciated the post you did after Guiness passed away - he was my baby and I love him so much :)
ReplyDeleteSuch gorgeous animals! All of them!
ReplyDeleteMy cats sure love to lay in the warm sunshine too,
but they are indoor cats. They always seem to find it in the house though. Too cute.
Thanks for coming back and sharing with the link party!

Love your blog and all the pictures. I adore Lily (and all the others too). She reminds me of my cat, Silky, who we found as a stray in our backyard. And we are so pleased that he picked our yard and us as his new people. Every time I need a pick me up I visit your blog. I'm always guaranteed to come away in a better mood and with a smile. I sure hope Lumina finds a wonderful home soon.
ReplyDeleteOh gosh, I have just checked out some of your pictures and previous posts and I'm most definitely your newest follower! What a great job you have. Your furry family is adorable. Love the one where they are both sleeping in the same bed. Occasionally ours do that too and it warms my heart. Your love for the animals is evident from your pictures. You walk the talk :)
ReplyDeleteA sleeping or lounging cat is such a beautiful sight. These ones must have a pretty good life at your house! Thanks for linking to Sunlit Sunday; I can almost hear the purring.
ReplyDeletefrom one cat lover to another .. Beautiful..
