Rideau Ferry Antiques
Organized Chaos
Let's go junkin'...
(me and sister-in-law, Donna)
can you believe this place?
There were 3 buildings loaded from floor to ceiling.
We got out alive.
These 3 orphaned tea-cups came home with me.I was so spoiled this birthday and received more gorgeous china from my sister-in-law, Donna, husband Rick and the retired-guy.
I'll save that for another day.
Today, Sierra & Lily are enjoying the screened-in deck. It is very hot and muggy.
The winner of the Glengarry tea-cup give-away is Snap from http://twistylane.blogspot.ca/. Please drop over and see her fabulous blog.
Off to cat-sit.
hugs, Deb
What an incredible place!!! I don't know how they sell anything - how can you get to stuff without an avalanche of other stuff and then taking chances on breaking things . . . well . . . I think, for the thrill of the adventure - I'd give it a try! Yes, my hands were sweaty looking at your photos. Pretty sad. Cute cups - saucerless as they are. Don't we all have a few of t hose . . .
ReplyDeleteBut, on a more sensible note, I'll have to take a peek at Julia's Cats when it comes out as I see in your sidebar. Interesting - and in her 100th anniversary year, too.
Enjoying my Copperfield and Emma on this cool late spring day in South Jersey - 90 degree weather coming tomorrow, though!
Joy!

WOW I have never seen anything like that antiques place! It would take me days to get through a place like that. That is amazing.
ReplyDeleteI'd get lost at Rideau Ferry Antiques and the bloodhounds would have to come find me! What a place! I bet it is fun to visit. Really like your three new teacups. Each so different.
ReplyDeleteOMC !
ReplyDeleteWhat a place !
My human say´s she would never dared to go in there = she would have torned down a lot of things ;-)
Thats not a store, thats a horde! How much like treasure hunting to dig there. I bet they would sell more if you could get to the china cupboards and such, and what if you see something on the bottom of a pile? Kinda nuts. Well whenever I feel like I cant get rid of something cause I might not find it again, Ill remember this place and know that there is plenty to go around out there somewhere and I dont need to keep it all.
ReplyDeleteIm trying to not end up like this! Thanks for sharing your adventure!
It would have made me dizzy too. I went to an estate sale kind of like that store once and went home and cleaned my house. You did find pretty tea cups. I am glad you had a fabulous birthday.
ReplyDeleteOh, wow! What fun! Would love to go through there. I never see anything similar to that around here. Alas! You found some very cute cups! They all look very happy to be in your home. Hope you had a lovely birthday, my friend! Thank you for sharing and coming to my party.
ReplyDeleteBlessings,
Sandi
Did that place make you feel claustrophobic? How strange. I bet there were some great deals there though.

Reminds me of the Kane County flea market back in Illinois. ACRES of stuff to pick through and haggle for...bliss!
ReplyDeleteWow! What an adventure to go there! You came out with some pretty teacups.

Well, I finally got through! I had to just walk away for a good 10 minutes and let it load! So touchy!
ReplyDeleteI went to an antiques place the other day in St. George, an old house, every floor was filled like this, it made me worry that the whole house was going to come down around my head! How does one collect so much junk? I guess they haven't heard that hearses don't have U-hauls! ;D
Did you take a sandwich?
ReplyDeleteHow could one possibly find anything!!!! Do you just dig through the pile until you find something you want ? And then how do you get the stuff back in the pile? Bet lots of things get broken or dented. From the look of it, it may be a hoarder with OCD at work.
I want visit......badly!
Congrats to the tea cup winner.
I wish you a belated Happy Birthday, Deb! 60? No way! You look much younger. I'm 60 too! Now you and your SIL had to get very serious at this place! Looks like it would take a long time to go through all of the stuff to find the goodies. I see you found the goodies! Love your sweet little tea cups!
ReplyDeleteThanks for popping in to see me.
Be a sweetie,
Shelia ;)
Looks like you could spend days in there looking for treasures. I don't know if I could have restrained myself to just 3 teacups, the ones you choose are pretty.
ReplyDeleteI turned 60 in February, feels pretty good I think.
sweet mercy-look at all that stuff!
ReplyDeleteI felt overwhelmed on Saturday when my sister and I went to the
thrift store!
love the tea cup with the tiny flowers=)
stay cool fluffy kitties!
Wow! I have never seen a place like this. I would be in heaven, but afraid to look deep for anything. But believe me I would give it a try!! Thanks for sharing such a neat place. Hugs!
ReplyDeleteMy word,I would have been scared to touch anything, for fear of starting an avalanche. I don't like to shop at places like this, I get so dizzy trying to see everything that I end up going home with nothing.
ReplyDeleteYou got some pretty cups! My favorite is the yellow one. Have a great week, Deb!
ReplyDeleteJust love it all. My jewelery art are made og recycling things so I visit all the local Secons Hands at least twice a month!
ReplyDeleteWow! That is a mind blowing experience, huh? I would SO love to go there :) Your treasures sure are beautiful! I love to collect stray pieces. I've enjoyed seeing all your cats and Kane too, over in the sidebar. Sweet looking animals. Have a blessed day!
