If you read my last post I'm sure you noticed Lola's big paws. Lola was a rescued cat that one of my client's found behind her office. lost and emaciated.
Home she came and now she lives in the lap of luxury.

A polydactyl cat is a cat with a congenital physical anomaly called polydactyly (or polydactylism, also known as hyperdactyly), a type of cat body type genetic mutation that causes the cat to be born with more than the usual number of toes on one or more of its paws. Cats with this genetically inherited trait are most commonly found along the East Coast ofNorth America (in the United States and Canada) and in South West England and Wales. The Carleton Place area where I live has many of these beautiful, big-footed cats.
Ebony has tiny feet but a big personality.
I'll miss her but she's already booked for a time in September so, "See you soon, sweet Ebony."
My favorite time of year is just within reach. I'm already planning the flowers for the porch and thinking about going through my Fall clothing. Pumpkin muffins have been dancing in my head lately.
The colours of Fall & hot chocolate, warm sweaters, new runners, Calico Cats. Love, love, love.
hugs, Deb
I love all things Tasha Tudor ... what a wonderful artist, animal lover, gardener .... Tiff was my polydactyl kitty ... looked like he was wearing mittens. Lola and Ebony are gorgeous and so lucky to have you looking after them. Mina was the vets again ... a follow-up from her first visit. This time her glucose was normal (high normal, but normal) so no insulin ... YeeHaw!!!!! There is a *new* probiotic powder for cats that we are trying for her still soft poo. Always something!!!! Hugs--
ReplyDeleteI am thinking all cats should live in the lap of luxury. If only it could be true!
ReplyDeleteI love fall too Deb. I just wish it lasted longer!

Tasha Tudor has been like a memory mentor to me--ever since I bought her first book. I feel I can channel her love (and my grandmother and mother) of gardening through my paper flowers to bring them to life.
ReplyDeleteYour "clients" are so adorable and I love seeing the personalities of each one. Bailey had big paws and because he was a Bi-color, Seal-point Mitted Ragdoll, looked like he was wearing white Ugh boots. Still missing him a lot, but seeing your kitties help. XOXO
Happy Birthday to Tasha Tudor. I am a big fan and have her Tasha Tudor's Garden, which I love reading.
ReplyDeleteLove the kitties.

I love big paws and tiny paws....oh I love cat paws!!!
ReplyDeleteI do not know about the polydactyl cats. You are a fabulous source of information. Tasha is a wonderful inspiration and Happy Birthday to her.
ReplyDeleteI do believe that all of Ernest Hemmingway's cats were polydactyl too.

I love polydactyl cats. There is nothing cuter than those extra toes. In all my years, of owning cats I have had two. Harvey the six toed guitar man was such a love. The other was so long ago I can't remember her name. I think it is wonderful that you love and form special attachments to the cats you care for.
ReplyDeleteTasha Tudor was such a wonderful lady and found such joy in so many simple things that sometimes I forget to appreciate.
Hugs
Iris
My friend has a polydactyl cat. She named her "Toes", hehe.
ReplyDeleteSuch a perfect post for me! I've been in love with Tasha since I first saw her home in a long ago Victoria magazine and my beloved Sarah cat had six toes on her front paws. ~ Maureen
