a dream life

A black cat, found in a shelter many years ago, is now living a dream life.

A princess bed, only feet from the fire-place, has fresh sheets applied when needed and a basket of trinkets laid out within reach.

A window of birds to be entertained by when the lure of the comfy bed is ignored.

A feast is laid out twice daily and warmed to satisfaction.

An evening massage and cuddle-time a daily ritual.

It's a dream life for most cats.  From rags to riches.

Oh, yes... and a loving cat-sitter that spoils her even more.

  4. We've rescued nearly 50 cats over the years, and have tried to give this kind of life to all of them. Every one of them has repaid us with such a special brand of love... sometimes it just overwhelms me. Sigh... I adore cats!

  5. A happy story, and agreeing with the comments that this should be the life for all cats (and dogs too)

  10. Deb, I love reading about your cats. We have 6 inside cats at the moment and every one of them were abandoned at some point... most when they were tiny kittens, but Rose was probably about 7 when she came to us. She had her 2 front canines broken and the Vet said it looked like someone had kicked her in the mouth. She's about 19 now and living as much a 'dream life' as we can give her. I wish we could do it for all the outside strays... but the house is only so big. We do provide them (neighborhood strays) with a sanctuary (6 ft fence) food, and toys... (and the ones that allow us to catch them are vaccinated and spayed). Our philosophy is that we can't save them all, but we do what we can.

  15. So many black cats are overlooked a shelters and their happy endings end there. For most, the shelter is a far hapier ending than what would have happened to them on the streets. I think black cats are positively gorgeous; beautiful house panthers full of grace and elegance. Ebony deserves every ounce of her pampered life. God bless her.
