Lucky for us, Natalie from http://knatolee.blogspot.ca/and Gordon shop at a bee-supply shop only minutes from our home.
So...they stopped in and we headed out for lunch.
Since we had recently had a good lunch at the Waterfront Gastro Pub it was easy to choose the restaurant. It sits along the Mississippi River.
The retired-guy took a pic of Nat and I and then we realized we needed a cat in the photo so Audrey joined us , whether she liked it or not.
Cutest couple ever.
It is always so great to see Natalie and Gordon and once again she came with her arms loaded with fresh chicken and duck eggs, the best honey ever and her amazing soap. Duck eggs..this will be a first.
Is there anything this girl doesn't turn her hand to?
Thanks again, Natalie & Gord for another fun visit.
It was great to see you and Audrey thinks you're kinda cool.
hugs, Deb
What great friends! Please tell us about the duck eggs: how did you use them? how do they compare to chicken eggs? and did Audrey break any of them, hehe~
ReplyDeleteRobin, duck eggs are larger, the yolk is a little denser, and there is a greater yolk-to-white ratio in duck eggs. Some people say duck eggs are a little richer. I love baking with them, because I swear things rise higher!! My neighbour says duck eggs make baked goods stay fresh longer but I'm not sure about that one! :)
DeleteNatalie's blog is listed on my blog list right under yours - I look forward to both of your blogs everyday. What fun when you get together and blog about it! It makes me happy and I laugh!!! Wish I lived closer so I could buy some of that honey and soap.
ReplyDeleteRobin, I will have to do a soap giveaway on my blog. When I've made a couple more batches, I'll do that! I wish I could figure out a way to ship honey economically, but it seems to cost more than the honey itself, even within Canada!
DeleteThey are a beautiful looking couple!
ReplyDeleteJanex
WHy thank you Jane! (Yes Deb, I'll just answer all your comments for you today, shall I?)
DeleteHow lucky you are to live so close--wish I was there, XOXO
ReplyDeleteCOME VISIT! WE'll treat you right!
DeleteI'm kind of jealous that you get to visit with Natalie and I'm kind of jealous that Nat got her picture taken with the famous (infamous?) Audrey! You get honey, eggs and soap, too?
ReplyDeleteAudrey is so hilarious! And Deb gave me a great chicken doorstop!
DeleteLove the name "Amorous Duck Soap Farm". Aren't you lucky ... a visit with friends bearing eggs, honey and soap and you both get to join Audrey in a photo shoot! :D :D :D Wonderful fun!
ReplyDeleteYummy honey!
ReplyDeleteHope you are having a terrific weekend Deb!

The Amourous Duck Soap Farm! What a great name! How could the product be anything but fun?
ReplyDeleteSome people are just chock full of talent, and the there's me.
Aw, you are so great! We had such a nice visit with you, and I loved my lunch. I've been out taking off honey supers and making frames all day and just checked this out now.
ReplyDeleteWe are actually going to call our farm "Amorous Duck Farm" and get a sign made!! :)
I look hot in the photos! :)
Thanks for another lovely visit, Deb, and I ADORE my chicken doorstop!!
Awww, I'm sure Audrey just loves the attention.
ReplyDeleteExcept when she's being awakened out of a restful slumber.
