I thought this little chart may be of interest to some. Our Lily is the oldest cat in our home. She is now between 18 & 20 so in human years she is in her 90's. No wonder she is sleeping most of the day and expects her many meals on time. Why, that's the highlight of her day, afterall.
We enjoyed a delicious breakfast out this morning and then spent some time moving wood and piling all the scrap metal onto our trailor from the log building that we had taken down last week. There is lots to clean up from the demolition and the logs need to be moved and kept up off the ground over the winter.
I have some cat-sitting to do over the weekend. I'm really looking forward to seeing some of my 'regulars'. It also looks like Thanksgiving weekend will be a busy one. Here in Canada we celebrate earlier than in the United States and this year the holiday falls on the 13th of October.
Here's a little 'cats in kitchen' photo for you. Cute, huh!

Funny how cats are always drawn to the kitchen. I am never alone in mine.I'sn that a lovely stove? It reminds me of my grandmother's although her's was black. It had a pie shelf that was very seldom empty.
I'd say these are well-loved cats with their own wicker basket full of toys.
Have a wonderful weekend, everyone.
I'm off to visit a tuxedo, a calico and a floofy orange and white heart-throb that you may recognize when I show them off this weekend.
hugs, Deb
I'm the same age as my cats! Dunno if that's good or bad...-ponder-
ReplyDeleteCharlie is 80 in human years, but pretty perky for that age. Still he has his dementia moments for sure. Sweet Lily is hanging in there and hey I look forward to meals also! Hugs, Linda
ReplyDeleteReally cute picture!
ReplyDeleteThat's quite a kitchen! And yes, they gravitate towards the kitchen, primarily because they figure they'll scarf some food from whatever poor soul walks in.
ReplyDeleteAlthough cats age faster, they certainly keep their good looks far better than us beans.
ReplyDeleteMy cats love the kitchen, too! :)
ReplyDeleteMy first two cats lived to be 16 and 18. Your sweet old lady is very old! Aw.
I adore that stove! Lizzie doesn't hang in the kitchen except when she's nagging -- which is often! Glad to see that chart. I was thinking that at nearly three she was still a pip, a post teen and that accounted for her periodic out of the box behavior. Guess she just has arrested development. I suppose that happens when you're a teen mum!
ReplyDeleteI love that kitchen! I also love the kitties with their toy basket. :)
ReplyDeleteMy grandma's stove was very similar to this although it was white.
Enjoy taking care of all those kitties this weekend!
Oh my, I now know for sure that my much loved Tiny, part Maine Coon, actually made 100! She was 21 when sadly we had to help her on her way to 'kitty heaven' - that was 12 years ago - I still miss her a lot.
ReplyDeleteI miss having a kitty in my kitchen - perhaps when we stop traveling I can get another!
Happy weekend Deb - Mary
Very thank you for your cat graph!!! - our tomcat is 8 (48). Lily is old lady - admirable age! I work in garden - tomcat is near, I am in kitchen - tomcat is near, I coming from shopping - tomcat is waiting...... It is very good friend!!
ReplyDeleteGood health for Lily!!.... and for you!!
Jarka
That is simply amazing!!!
ReplyDeleteI love that kitchen too. ~ Catherine
My Birman Charlotte will celebrate her 20th birthday on 8th Feb. next year. She is hoping to make her 21st birthday as that will equal 100 years old and she is thinking there might be a telegram from the Queen.
ReplyDeleteI like the chart. That means our Bickett is close to 56. Dumperoo between 32 and 40. Deb, thank you for the advice. I left a reply to your comment. I would love to have a cat that looks just like Audrey. My husband will be back shortly and I plan to show him your blog. Trying hard here to win him over. He thinks two cats in the house is too much. Thanks again!
ReplyDeleteI love the chart, but it needs to be extended a bit. Toby will turn 24 the 1st week of Nov.. She will get a special dinner of fresh poached fish. Her favorite is tilapia, but any fish is well received.
ReplyDeleteThat kitchen has lots of features I would like to have in my own kitchen. I like the open shelving below the drawers. Even the flooring is nice. That stove is definitely the showpiece in the room. I wonder where they found the cookware in the matching color.
Thanks for the cat age chart. Nutmeg is 15 and fell out of bed (my fault) the other day. I quickly gave her some anti-inflammatories, some osteo cat stuff and she slept for 10 hrs. She seems to have recovered somewhat. Still limping but just her regular limp. Not bad for a mid-70s gal!
