My morning started out very early with Audrey on the bed; her expressive eyes on me (much like this photo) and she was miffed. Big bad Joe had chased her and she wasn't happy. She needed some attention.
Of course this wasn't the first time. It's been on-going for months. I expect that until we are in the mouse-house this face will greet me most mornings now. She just needed a cuddle and some reassurance that he'll be left in her dirt in the not too far off future.
The cup and saucer are made in England. It is marked Shefford and it is hand-painted.

The sun has been hiding all day today. Annie lay in her favorite spot waiting and hoping.

I had lunch with my good friend, Sue, today and then packed up a few more things at home.
I came across this tea-cup and saucer that I would like to give to YOU. If you like it, that is.
All you need to do is leave a comment and I'll have the retired-guy pick a name from a toque. That's right...a toque, as there are no hats sitting around right now; only warm woolly toques.
Since this is 'National Hot Tea Month' I'm sure you tea-lovers will make good use of it.
It's one where you can hold up your pinkie while you enjoy the beverage. :)

I didn't have the heart to tell her it was a 'no go' today.
Stay toasty,Deb
Yes, please add me to the list. I collect tea cups and this one is lovely. Thank you.
ReplyDeleteIt's certainly a lovely cup and saucer!
ReplyDeleteAnnie looks entirely at peace with the world.
And I can never get enough of Audrey's glare!
Beautiful colors and a littlte, pretty ,shiny handle. Yes, of course! I would love to own these pretties. Give Audrey an extra cuddle from me.( I just love her lion nose)

Don't you get tickled when you wake up to that serious look of Audrey's? You would have to hug her. I love the tea cup and saucer! Thank you.
ReplyDeleteOh my, I love that tea cup. I grew up drinking tea with my Mom. She had the cups from my Grandmother. I inherited them from her. I have five very special cups in my china shelf. I just look. The teapot that belonged to my Grandmother is also beside the cups. So, please put me on the list as I would love that cup and saucer. Give the cats a pet from me.

Such a lovely tea cup and saucer. I was given a lovely tin of French tea, Marco Polo, for Christmas and I can see enjoying it from this if I happen to be the winner. I also drink different herbal teas. Whoever the winner is I know they will enjoy using it.
ReplyDeleteAudrey is such a hoot! I just love her facial expressions.
Have a great week ~ FlowerLady
Okay, as I am new on your blog, I need to figure out who "big bad Joe" is and why he is chasing Audrey... then I will move on to the beautiful tea cup that you are so generously willing to share with one of your lucky followers. I would love your cup, but I have reached the age where I am scrambling to figure out what to do with the things I have collected over the years. You might want to think about that ... if your kids have no interest, what happens to all of it when you are gone. My son tells me he will have to figure out what to do with it if I don't so that is what I am trying to do now. For that reason and that reason alone, I would prefer not to have my name put in your warm woolly toque. It should go to someone who will have a place for it for awhile. And now, poor, pretty Annie has to wait another day ... but for what? I will need to go back through your posts and catch up on things to make it easier to appreaciate all that you have to say. Meanwhile, have a wonderful week, Deb ... until the next time ...

Hi Andrea - Big bad Joe is my daughter's cat that lives with us right now. He likes to chase Audrey and she wants none of that. I think he has a crush on her but the fact that she screams while running from him makes him just want to chase her more. It is very cold here and the cats feel pent up in the house without the windows open. We are moving from our old house soon and my daughter will be moving in. Joe will be staying here with her.
DeleteI think Miss Audrey will miss Master Joe, when she moves to the Mouse House!
ReplyDeleteDeep freeze again tonight.....ready to light the log....
Cheers!
Linda :o)
What a pretty cup!
ReplyDeleteDreary and cold today here, too...sleet and icy roads!
We've had a few cat spats and chases around here, too....they need to run off some pent up energy I think!
Audrey-I'm sorry that interloper Joe is in your space and giving you a hard time.
ReplyDeleteTry to be patient.
I didn't know it was National Tea month...sheesh!
Stay warm and toasty, Annie girl, you never fail to make me smile.
Audrey remind us of our angel Leo. She has the same expressive eyes and shape of face...not sure what it is exactly but she does!
ReplyDeleteLP loves teacups and tea and thinks that is a very pretty teacup and would like her name to be placed in the toque please! :)
the critters in the cottage xo
Oh my gosh!! I can't imagine drinking tea from such a pretty and dainty cup and saucer. That would be a thrill. Thank you for the opportunity to win such a beauty. Not as beautiful as those furry babies ... but close. :-)
ReplyDeleteWishing you a blessed day.
LesleyAnn
Your cup and saucer are really pretty -- but the prettiest is Ms. Audrey and her morning look at you! Yes, I think you have your wake-up buddy right there!
ReplyDeleteYour darling kitties - never a dull day, or moment, with them around and you taking time to share delightful stories with us Deb.
ReplyDeleteI've never heard of National Tea Month - for me every month is a big tea month, coffee month and red wine month, haha! Lovely gift but don't put my name in dear, I have so much china I need to start giving mine away - would love for some other nice reader to win this pretty one!
Hugs - Mary

ReplyDeleteAh! Audrey! Bless! You stand your ground girl....
ReplyDeleteAt least Mum will always give you a big cuddle!
You look lovely....(As always)x
Oh! Tell Mum, no need to put me in the draw!
I drink my tea out of bigger cups! HeHe!
I'm very common, you see....! :>).
Your place must be fun with all the kitties around. I love the pretty Audrey and sweet Annie. Lovely tea set! Have a happy day!
ReplyDeleteYour photo of "Peach" is a treat. But then, Peach herself is a treat!
ReplyDeleteOh, Audrey has such an expressive glare! And Annie is so patient. Cats are wonderful companions, aren't they?
ReplyDeleteThat tea cup is so beautiful! I was excited when I saw it on my sidebar in your post! I've been enjoying tea every day... sure helps make this cold, dreary weather a bit better. Audrey's eyes say it all!! ;) blessings ~ tanna
ReplyDeleteBeautiful set! Please include my name in the drawing. Have a day filled with sunshine from middle TN.
ReplyDeleteOoh, I just want to snuggle and smooch that upset Audrey face! I think you are right...Joe just LIKES Audrey! Annie, the sun will come out...someday. It's very cold here too, and I fret about my outside cats, but they both came out for breakfast, and I saw them each lapping at the fresh water. Temps to go up by weekend, so I've heard.
ReplyDeletePlease add me to the list, as I think tea would taste especially good in that cup! Audrey is such a beautiful cat - her coloring is amazing!
ReplyDeleteI also love cats and all kind animals...and I also have a big familywith a lot of animals.
ReplyDeleteDebora
Throw my name into the hat. Beautiful tea cup and I like the box!!!!!!!!! I'm catching up today. Cold and damp and no sun. Not a big deal for you, but down here in the tropics -- we haven't been out of the 40s for 6 days now (and no sun). Very unusual for this time of year and we are tired of it! The cold damp wind cuts to the bone. I think a cup of tea is in order!
ReplyDeleteHugs and purrs.....
Love the cat photos and the tea cup and saucer. Please add my name to the toque. Thanks for the opportunity to enter the giveaway. It's cold here (in VA) with winter advisory for tonight and tomorrow morning. Hopefully, there will be more sun puddles. (shirparks@gmail.com)
