"Bye, bye hot & humid August."
And although the gardens are fading out, if I was asked what my smartest purchase of the season was, it would be soaker hoses. :)
It's been very active under the sumacs recently. I noticed the nuthatch are back and yesterday Mr. & Mrs. Cardinal showed up after being gone for months. Downy woodpeckers and blue-jays are in abundance. I read that the goldfinch are nesting until the middle of September so I hope to see some babies again soon.
And my chickadees never let me down. :)
"Well, look at you." :)
That's quite a balancing act.
Audrey says...
"Hey, how about bringing one inside, you know, for lunch, to tuck inside my sesame seed bun. ;-b
Brat!
hugs, Deb
Oh so fun! I love that chickadee on your hand. Adorable!
ReplyDeleteGot to 'hand' it to you Deb...You've really
ReplyDeletegot them eating out of your 'hand'? HeHe! :).
I wonder if Audrey!x can do such a balancing act!
Audrey!x You'll have to find summat else for your
sesame bun...! Bless!x
Wonderful photo you got of the Chickadee in your hand. Your gardens look fabulous. We too had an incredibility hot & dry summer in this part of Ontario. The corn field behind us is SO stunted I doubt much will be harvested. Happy long weekend.
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness! I can't believe the little bird comes to your hand to feed! Bird charisma too, you have.
ReplyDeleteThat's remarkable! How long did you have to keep your hand out until they eventually came? Hot, dry summer, indeed! -Jenn
ReplyDeleteIt is so hard to look at a photo of Audrey now. We lost our Earl Grey to a sudden illness this week. Enjoy every day, they are over all too soon. June in NC
ReplyDeleteDeb, I miss feeding my birds sooooo much! I'm tempted to at least put out the flat feeder again, but the bear spottings around the house have continued all season, so it's really not wise....sigh! I shall live vicariously through you!
ReplyDeleteYou are now the bird whisperer, too! You are having so much fun in your garden. Audrey, go hide! ;)
ReplyDeleteHugs and purrs....
It has been a really hot summer here also. No rain, then too much rain. I'm still seeing Goldfinches at my feeder! Oh Audrey!
ReplyDeletehugs!!
Nice St. Francis imitation! Audrey, you are so funny, wish I could snuggle you.
ReplyDeleteI can't believe they come to your hand. Biggest sigh and a bit of bird envy!
ReplyDeleteThat's a very trusting bird! And there's the Audrey glare!
ReplyDeleteha ha ha LOl---looks like that is EXACTLY what Audrey is thinking, ha ha LOL. You sure have those birds tame.......so cool!
ReplyDeleteLovely September! I like it a lil bit hot.
