Snow is falling and the birds are getting anxious, it seems. They know there is a long and cold season ahead.
(taken this morning)
They are eating in groups, and although there is mostly calmness at the feeders, the chickadees do have squabbles. I guess we share the discontent of winter settling in.
I have today off from cat-sitting and am making the best of a lazy day. I may just cuddle up with my own two fabulous felines and watch a good movie. But I will have to wait for Audrey to leave her tent; that little cloud of comfyness. Oh, the good life. :)
The birds and squirrels were well fed over the weekend, too, with an up and coming bird enthusiast having a sleep-over at the mouse-house. :)
This is very serious business. :)
Now she takes food out to her own resident birds at home on their acre lot. She's such a cutie.
We had family in for dinner last night so there is half of an apple cake luring me into the teeny weeny kitchen. Time to put the kettle on.
I'm thinking Christmas and slowly decorating the mouse-house.
While the snow falls and the winds blow, I wish you all a peaceful Sunday.
hugs, Deb

It looks like Audrey has found a warm place to be for the Winter! Stay warm, my friend, XOXO
ReplyDeleteOh I do love that wreath hanging on your old cupboard. It's in the perfect spot, and I love the garland too.
ReplyDeleteNo snow here yet Deb...you can have it all!
ReplyDeleteYou must be so proud of that wee munchkin...taking after her nana and caring for the birds ❣
That is quite a luxurious bed that Audrey has there....spoiled kitty!
Enjoy your week...keep on decorating!
Cheers!
Linda :o)
Lovely post and photos Deb . We had the morning with a dusting of snow then it melted and it has been a light wet snow all day on and off and still falling with howling winds . My mum always used to say lets knit some woollies for the birdies to help keep them warm, something I will always think of when watching the birds in the cold weather as they keep warm feasting and dashing to and fro . Thanks for sharing , Have a good day and stay cozy !
ReplyDeleteWow, snow again and still only November. I call it snowing so heavily at Thanksgiving one year when we lived in New Hampshire - we almost had to spend the night at the restaurant where a large family group had met for dinner. Luckily the ones with chains on their vehicles were able to get us all home eventually
ReplyDeleteThe chickadees look adorable, as does that special someone without wings but lovely warm looking purple boots!!!!
Ah, you've taught that little one well in the care of the birdies!
ReplyDeleteWe had just a little flurry of snow today. Nothing stuck but it was pretty!
Hi Deb, the little bird enthusiast is so cute! I love the touches of Christmas you've added to your home. I love garlands made of cinnamon and fruit slices and I'm eyeing your sheep collection. About 4 years ago I had one and was on the search for more. The last while I have been finding quite a few and I love them!
ReplyDeletehugs,
Jann
How beautiful Deb! The snowfall on a November day. I love your little mouse house!
ReplyDeleteSnow here too but it didn't stick. Love your wreath and of course (again) the sheep! Yes, Audrey has it very good indeed!
ReplyDeleteYour pictures are so beautiful, Deb. I love this time of the year as well. Audrey looks so nice and comfy!!! Have a great week:)

I think Audrey has the right idea - especially as I am reading this on a Monday morning...
ReplyDeleteThe brutal wind blew away the last of the warms!
ReplyDeleteIt seems to be staying on the ground here.
ReplyDeleteAudrey has a very good idea.
