There is nothing more cozy than a wood fire so I love it too. Hot chocolate, popcorn, warm quilts. It all sounds so comfy. Of course, I like to have a kitty close by too.
Ed loved his first winter around our wood-stove. He had really filled out by this time and looked healthy.
He had been one of 47 cats that were picked up by OSPCA from a hoarder of cats. He was sick, emaciated and depressed when I found him at our local shelter in May of 2008. All his teeth had been removed because of infection. It makes me so happy to see him feeling better but he will always be timid and nervous when people approach him. I am of the understanding from the shelter that the Animal Control had to gather them up in nets so I don't think he will ever recover fully from that. He knows we love him though.
One of my all-time favorite cat-sitting clients has bought a home in the country....way out in the boonies. She asked that I take a drive up today to see if I can continue to be her cat-sitter. She is hoping that it is going to work out for us. 40 minutes one way but very scenic and a lovely quiet road. I'll be heading up there at Christmas so here's hoping they plow real well. "OF COURSE I'LL STILL BE HER CAT-SITTER."
hugs, Deb
