The end of the rail-line changed how I felt about this town. It wasn't so unique or charming anymore. Then the big stores came in...Walmart, Home Depot, Rona and so on. All the smaller stores have suffered for it. Can we even call this a 'small town' anymore? I don't think so. Too bad!
He stares again, down the railroad track
Looking for something, that's never coming back
And just like his old friends, and their days of yore
The train don't come through here, anymore."
(from the song "Anymore" by: Lyle Dillabough)
Cats don't care about stuff like this. They live in the moment and if they can settle their caboose in anything that resembles a box...then life is good.
Puffin is doing well in her foster home. She is becoming more relaxed and loves to be petted. Shelly (the foster mom) thinks she will be adoptable soon. Thanks for your nice comments about her.
I have a teeny weeny give-away so drop by tomorrow. No really, Please do....it's so so cute.
hug, Deb
Dear Deb, Believe it or not ? I never like to go in the box, I don't know why but I do love live with a moment...Especially, A moment of eating..heh..heh

ReplyDeleteHi Deb!
ReplyDeleteWell heck I thought I already was a follower of yours but when I went to check...I wasn't! I could have sworn I have been a follower for ages...could it be I'm getting old?? Heaven forbid and please forgive me. That's too bad about the train not going through your little town any more...that's sad especially when you love that sound. I'm afraid I felt differently about train whistles when we lived in town in the old Victorian. We lived just a few houses down from that track and EVERY time the train went through that intersection it blew it's horn plus we could feel the vibration in the old partially brick home. I got so I hated that sound...in fact I was afraid we'd never sell the old place because of it. As it turned out we sold the old house VERY quickly to a fellow who loved that sound...go figure. Now we live in the country miles from the nearest tracks but I like hearing the whistle in the distance. Now I wish we heard it more often...who'd have thought. What a great place to walk your dog...no traffic and now no trains to worry about. Love the picture of your Sierra in the basket. Have a wonderful day and week!

hello,
ReplyDeletei just stumbled upon your blog and think you have the most fabulous business. to anyone having second thoughts about adopting Custer, please don't. we fostered a tripod who was recovering from his amputation and he became a permanent member of our family. he never sees himself as disabled, climbs, plays, runs, uses his litter box perfectly and is a testament to grace and charm. we named him sunny due to his joyful, bright personality. all we do is make sure he doesn't go out of doors. whomever adopts custer will not regret it.
Haha ~ love the look on Sierra's face!! Cute!

Love your posts! Just wanted to let you know that I read your blog ALL the time but can't comment from my computer (for some reason)! I have tried all sorts of things but can't make it work. At any rate, I'm at work and now can let you know that I'm an avid reader!!
