The morning brought a fresh blanket of snow and the sun peaked out from behind the clouds. The feeders were very active with a handful of chickadees and a dozen or so of our rather amusing black crows. I watched as they scratched the new snow looking for yesterday's seed. They like to sit above the feeders sometimes and watch for me to appear with some tid-bits.
I started the day enjoying some of my blue and white. The Salt Box was found in a thrift shop last year. The only marking on it is Germany.
Coffee in a teacup. For some odd reason it tastes better to me. Blueberry scones from our local shop were so delicious with a few fresh blueberries on the side.
Next on our to-do list is to add the trim to our windows. The kitchen window is first since I can see the feeders from there. And, I have located the cupboard drawers and the doors to my armoire.
The fun continues. :)
Hugs, Deb
The scones look very, very tasty!

Blue on blue! Lovely Deb.....
ReplyDeleteCheers!
Linda :o)
The scones do look wonderful and now I am wanting a cup of tea! Stop by Still Woods Farmhouse for a little bit of spring inspiration! I know all of my northern friends could do with a little reminder that the snow will not last forever!

Love your salt vessel!
ReplyDeleteHaving your very own things around you makes a house a home! And finding good stuff at thrifty shops is the cherry on top.
ReplyDeleteIt's wonderful to hear updates, Deb, on how life is going there. So glad it is coming along - and aren't you glad for a good local bakery shop! Bonus!
ReplyDeleteLove,
Lily
I've seen those salt crocks go for quite a bit of money at the auctions! Yours is especially beautiful with that lovely pattern and nice wood lid!
ReplyDeleteI want that salt box!! Glad you are progressing in the mouse house........Put the feed for the crows away from the other feeders, they will attack smaller birds. We have a big problem with them in the city, Every year they run sirens to scare them away.....
ReplyDeletewow, amazing. some great work you are doing so far Lost and found
ReplyDeleteCrows are supposedly very intelligent birds. It's interesting that they sit and wait for you to bring food. Didn't take them long to learn that trick!'
ReplyDeleteYour blue and white is lovely. Perfect with the blueberry scones.
It's nice to have something warm to enjoy while the snow piles up.
I do love blue and white (and blueberries). What an exciting journey you are on -- a lifetime dream! Enjoy the unpacking.
ReplyDeleteHugs and Purrs!
Looks lovely and YUMMY ! The birdies here are all extra energized as they sense spring in the air flying from one feeder to the next across the yard almost running me down lol ! The yard is very active now even the squirrels who have been hibernating for few weeks are out and about now ! Thanks for sharing , Have a good day !
ReplyDeleteLove your china, and that scone looks magnificent!
ReplyDeleteYay! Good to see tea time with your blue and white at the Mouse House!!
ReplyDeleteDid you see the story of the little girl in Seattle who is receiving gifts from crows. She feeds them and they bring her all kinds of keepsakes!
Love your salt box! I've been seeing them in the antique shops, but they are pretty pricey. I will take one home with me when I can find one in my price range! Your scone looks yummy! Enjoy your new adventure!
ReplyDeleteThe salt-box fits in perfectly with your collection. So does the blueberry scone, come to think of it. Warmed, with some butter melting on it...mmm...
ReplyDeleteAh, tea....such a comfort. Beautiful to see the birds, and your blue and white set is gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteIt is funny how drinks taste different in different cups isn't it! xx
ReplyDeleteI agree that almost everything tastes better in a teacup. Those tall coffee mugs just don't do it for me.
