She is now known as the 'kitchen cat'. Every-time I call her that she meows her approval. I love this cat so much.
It's a long weekend, the sun is on for 3 days straight and I plan to get lots done inside and out.
That is, after cat-sitting, of course. I have lots of gorgeous cats to pamper all weekend for travelling clients. 10 in total. I just got a call for 2 more last night. There are always the 'last minute' calls.
I baked my favorite branana bread today. 2 loaves.
On to cat-sitting...
You must be quick and you must be accurate (needs to go into back of throat) because sometimes you only get one chance before the cat leaves and hides.
Once the pill is in, you should rub the neck to be sure it goes all the way down the throat. A cat is a master at hiding the pill in it's mouth and then returning it to you once released. Check to see if your fingers are all there and give cat a kiss on his head. :-)
Cat not impressed but still loves the cat-sitter anyway.
We then played 'catch the mouse' and had a grooming session.
Here comes the long weekend. Enjoy!
hugs, Deb
Oh, he's adorable, Deb! I just want to give him a hug, he's so fluffy! Giving a kitty a pill can't be easy. Your Branana bread looks yummy.
ReplyDeleteI posted about my new teacup {from you} today in my Pink post. Hope you have a wonderful long weekend and the kitties are good company.
Blessings and smiles,
Sandi
Your "kitchen cat" is adorable. So are all that you so lovingly take care of. I'm off to check the banana bread recipe. Have a happy weekend.
ReplyDeleteLove that sweet orange & white boy. What does he take meds for? I'm better at sub-q then pilling! Banana bread is my fave...gonna check out your recipe now.
ReplyDeleteDeb, have you tried Pill Pockets? They have worked fabulously well for me with 2 cats. My one male cat, Cinnamon rejected them and I had to pill him the old fashioned way. But the little gals just loved them and all I had to do was put the pill inside the treat and they'd gobble it down.
ReplyDeleteThe owners of Toady have tried them but told me they didn't work on him. He would just spit it all up. He's not hard to pill, though. I just open his mouth and place it far back in his throat. Down the hatch!
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful picture of Annie's little furry face and luminous eyes. So happy that you two found each other.

ReplyDeleteAnnie is so sweet =)
ReplyDeleteYour banana bread looks yummy
Pilling a kitty-something I dread!
Deb, you are a Cat Whisperer!! Getting cats to take medicine requires a special talent. I sure wish you were near enough to take care of our Velvet Stanley when we travel. blessings ~ Tanna
ReplyDeleteAw yes ~ May long weekend. Rain rain rain for us! :( Oh well.
ReplyDeleteI love your kitchen kitty. Banjo is always in the kitchen with me... when I'm getting him food that is. ;)
Happy Saturday Deb!

ReplyDeleteOh sweet Annie! I also love this big orange kitty! I am lucky I haven't had to pill Charlie very often. Enjoy the sunny days! Hugs, Linda
ReplyDeleteThere is just something in Annie's large luminous eyes. Something deep and comprehending. Mesmerizing! Do you feel a connection with her beyond the usual cat and mum? I felt it with my late Arthur. I always felt it was me and Arthur and the cats.
ReplyDeleteThat Ginger and white fellows, with the unfortunate name, is so handsome. He sort if reminds me of Eric from Our Life by Eric and
Flynn. He has that stately, intelligent look.
Hi, Deb -- I popped in after too long an absence (Several weeks of vacation, re-entry, sad times after)just to get a bit of a cat-fix. And to share with you that The Marmelade Gypsy has moved on to another life -- or maybe a holding pattern till the right one comes along. Words can't express our sadness. But I know you understand.
