I'm so glad I am the type of person who looks out windows often. If there is something that will make the world stop for just a moment, it is this...
I did manage a few shots before they took flight. If it had been my home I would have brought apples out for them; it's the mother in me. Here they are devouring the bird seed left for the birds. Sadly, everything is so hungry right now.
Are they not the most gorgeous animal? Well, besides cats, of course. I hope the winter is easy on them.
I came home and checked the weather report for the rest of the week. The storm has stopped now and the days ahead should be quite mild. Just thought I'd let you know.
hugs, Deb
OH, isn't she/he beautiful in the snow? Lovely!
ReplyDeleteThere were three of them, Knatolee. Picture-perfect.
DeleteOhh so beautiful to see such a lovely deer outside the house

What wonderful pictures, especially the first one. Fortunately, that lady looks decently fed. I once saw three deer on my neighbours front lawn at three o'clock in the morning in the moonlight. What they were doing there in the middle of a city of 80,000 people, I can't say, but it was a nice sight.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful photos!

I recognise that backyard. I've taken many pics myself there. Did you know one year they had a bear at the feeders -- a wee bit scarier than a deer ? :-)
ReplyDeleteDeb this is so much like our yard in Maine. We often had three to five dear come into the yard from our back woodlands during winter. We worried so about these beautiful gentle animals. We left crushed acorns and fresh apples out for them during those harsh days. I adore them so...thank you for sharing these beautiful photos!
ReplyDeleteThat is a gorgeous photo Deb! Such lovely creatures and sad to see them hungry! Hope they find food in the days to come.
ReplyDeletehugs, Linda
Brrrrrrrrr!
ReplyDeleteWhat is it about deer that can make us be still as long as they will stay there for us to gaze upon? It's like they have a magic ability to calm the busiest of people and make us stop and savour the moment!
ReplyDeleteOh my what a BEAUTIFUL scene to look out ans see!!
ReplyDeleteWhat a gorgeous group of photographs! When we had them on our property we had a feeder and kept it filled with yellow corn. They would gather in a group at dusk and it was such fun to watch them. The snow is so pretty. As long as you can stay inside!
ReplyDeleteWonderful photos ! We have Deer here as well but they mainly stick to the forest and rarely come out to be seen in day light . I am still yet to get photos of Deer ! They are beautiful . I would love to put a salt lick in the back 40 but am afraid Miggs would scare them . I love the winter wonderland so lovely for photos. Have a good day !
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed seeing the deer! Beautiful!
ReplyDeleteHow wonderful to look out and see that beautiful sight. Sorry they are hungry though.. Hugs GJ x

Precious! Oh how I love that snowy, fuzzy, face.
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year.

What a beautiful deer, how chilly it must be venturing out in the storm to look for food. It must be scary going out to feed all the cats in that snow.

You take such gorgeous photos!
ReplyDeletewhat beautiful photos, the deer are smart , when the snow gets deep they always come looking for food, I think they now associate houses with bird feeders, they eat the bird seed when they are hungry, I feel so sorry for them, it must be a hard life.
ReplyDeleteYes, Laurie, it is hard for them. I know lots of people in the country who leave out food for them now as there are so many. I'm happy about that.
