Lilacs and Apple Blossoms

Today was a day to welcome the lilacs and the apple blossoms. They are just opening and will need a week to be fragrant but we are very happy to see them.
We had a surprise visit from Little Gwyn and her mom. Gwyn helped Gramps feed the birds and squirrels. Never too early to learn, I think.

It was also a day for me to visit the dentist.
Why is there always a flip-side to everything?

Anyway, here are a few nice pics of the day...(none of me in the dentist chair :-b)

Is this a cherry blossom tree?
"Oh,  Lindaaaaaaa"

Soon this tree will be gorgeous with blossoms.
I favor the white lilacs.

See how close the Chickadee's nest is to our front door. She hops from my hanging basket of white geraniums to her little perch on the wooden cat. It's nice and deep in there for her nest.

Silly bird, though, to nest so close to the busy front door. We have already been scolded for standing on our porch and when the dog came out she darn near had a fit. Geesh!

I'm joining Jody at for Simple and Sweet Friday.

hugs, Deb

  2. Lovely photos ! Our lilacs and blossom trees are slow this year but they will be in full bloom in a week or so two ! Hope the dentist went well and all is good ! Thanks for sharing , Have a good day !

  3. Momma are the same, no matter what the species! Protect the babies...

  4. Beautiful pictures of springtime and family.
The chickadee must feel safe and cozy in that nest! It is adorable.

    Blessings, Catherine

  5. Hi Deb....not much of an expert when it comes to these flowering trees....
Could be a crab too....sorry...not really sure...
But I am sure that Gwynn is a cutie pie, and I also love white Lilacs...AND.....phew....I have the same front slammer as you!
Aren't chickadees the cutest wee birds....
    Enjoy your evening....
    Linda :o)

  6. I'll take lilacs any way I can get 'em. We don't have them here.
    Gwyn is a little doll.

  7. Yes, the cherry tree blossoms are finally showing themselves. I've been taking shots.

  8. My lilacs aren't quite out yet. My bees would just love those apple blossoms!!

  9. Isn't funny how angry the birds get when you 'invade their space'. It's as if it never occurs to them that you lived there and used that porch first.

  10. Lilacs and apple blossoms! Heaven! I love lilacs and can't grow them here. The kitties have their "own" bird to watch. !!!

  11. Well spring is finally finding it's way up there! I know y'all are loving it! So nice to finally get outdoors and see the blooms! Love this picture of precious Gwyn and her Granddad! Have a wonderful weekend!

  12. I love to come here because your blog is full of love!

  13. Fun post...I had a robin build on the back porch one year and dive bomb me and the dogs all spring!

Lilacs coming into bloom here them! :)

Darling little one smiling in the stroller...cute shot! :)

  14. Your yard must smell wonderful with all those blossoms! Thanks for sharing.

  15. Look at that face as she helps her grandpa!

  16. Surely this is a site well worth seeing.

  17. Your cats are darling. I wish I could paint your apple blossoms!
