Festive Stair-case

I thought I'd show you our staircase at Christmas all decked out for the grands.
These were taken a few years back with a different camera so the quality is not that great.

Each step had a Santa on it and the railing was dressed with garland and hanging ornaments.

The ornaments on the railing had all moving parts that the kids could play with.
The kitty's legs and tail go up and down.
This little girl's arms move up and down.
Santa's reindeer moves as if he is flying. I've always loved these ornaments that are made of wood.

I'm sure I can find a place to hang them in our new dwelling. It wouldn't be Christmas without them.
Oh yes, Audrey thought they were 'the cat's meow'.

I'm joining Brenda at http://www.cozylittlehouse.com/ for Tweak It Tuesday.

Stay toasty, Deb

  1. I love that! We don't have a staircase; does your new house have one?

    1. Hi Sue - yes, but just like the house itself it will be much smaller. We are moving into a carriage house for now so the stairs go up from the garage.

  6. Anything that's fun should have a few cat teeth marks in it...

  7. I have always loved your house at any time of year but especially when you've decorated for Christmas. My kitty vandals would make short work of these lovely decorations. Hopefully you will be hanging your wonderful kitty garland in the new cottage.

  9. Love the hanging wood Christmas toys. We have a few Easter ones and my youngest grand daughter loves pulling the strings!
And I can imagine our cat Julie knocking every one of those Santas down the stairs. She's my mischievous one - loves giving everything a knock with her paw!

  10. Your staircase looks lovely Deb! The girls and I will have to wait two more weeks before we start decorating. Sinterklaas must have left our country first. Love your new header too. Very contemporary!

  11. I'm surprised those santas would stay on the steps with certain felines (Audrey, I'm looking at you) wandering around.

    1. The odd Santa takes a tumble but it's the dangly things on the garland that she has fun with.

    1. Snowmen!!! How adorable. Can't wait to see it. These photos are from last year as decorating will be at a minimum this year. :(

  15. I've always wanted a staircase so I could put the garland on it! Yours is just beautiful. and I'm very fond of those vintage-style ornaments! Lovely!

  16. Oh, Deb....I love the staircase and decorations. This will be my first Christmas to be without a staircase to decorate. Because the cottage is so small, it will be a challenge to choose which decorations to use.

  19. You've given me such a great idea for decorating with these new kittens around. I'm afraid to put up a tree as I know they will climb it:-D
