Thank you for all your thoughtful comments on the passing of my dear mother-in-law, Mabel.
She will be so terribly missed and fondly remembered by her whole family.
She had the most joyful laugh and I will never forget it.
I was so blessed to have her in my life.
I hope everyone enjoyed Mother's Day.
We spent the day travelling home from the Kitchener area.
Here I am in my bright mouse-house kitchen. This is certainly a kitchen for one cook only but it has everything we need within arms reach. (literally) I love the big window that over-looks the drive-way and the big maple and fir trees that have greened up so much more since this photo.
Sierra spends a lot of her time on the window-sill. It is there that she has her little bowl of milk each day
and enjoys looking down on the birds at the feeders. Then she heads down to her tree in the garage window and watches for a certain dastardly cat to drop by.
And look who was waiting outside this morning for a tummy-rub. You guessed it...Dave.
I think we've created a monster.
Now if he could just get rid of the snake that has made a home under the brush next to our barbeque.
"Geeeeeeeeesh!" :-(
I'll be wearing my gum-rubber boots today.
hugs, Deb
Glad you had a safe trip.....your mother-in-law sounds wonderful. Mine has been gone several years now and I still remember her lovely laugh. :)
ReplyDeleteYou kitchen is adorable. Small is very doable if you have a big window!
Dave looks like a big lion out there...lol....
Your MIL Mabel looks like she was a cheery person. Condolences to you and The Retired Guy.
ReplyDeleteA nice pic of your MIL. You have wonderful memories of her. Glad your trip went well. I have a small kitchen also which makes it hard if anyone wants in to help. But by myself it is just right. Have a wonderful week.
ReplyDeleteYou look so very pretty in these photos Deb...happy and smiling! I LOVE the picture of your dear Mother-in-law and am so very, very sorry for your family. I know she must have been a true blessing. Big hugs to you and kiss the kitties!!!
ReplyDeleteYour cats look like they are loving the mouse- house. I agree with your opinion about the snake. When we lived in Nova Scotia I came across a yellow on that was about 4 feet long. I wore my gum boots all summer(after spending a couple of days inside refusing to go out!)
ReplyDeleteWe cannot help but make friends with neighbor cats! How can one resist?
ReplyDeleteSierra must love the high vantage point. And Dave deserves a tummy rub!
ReplyDeleteI love your pictures. You look so pretty and sweet. I also love the brightness of your kitchen. Oh Deb, speaking of snakes, do I have a story to post! :)
ReplyDeleteLovely picture of your MIL. Some relatives we miss so much.
ReplyDeleteThat snake will do a good job keeping the mice away from the house. I'm tolerant of snakes as long as they aren't rattlers. Of course, if Dave is a mouser he could keep the mice away and is much more charming ;-)
Maybe Dave has a mongoose friend he can bring by for the snake...
ReplyDeleteJohn has the idea! Does Knatolee have a mongoose on the farm she could lend you?
ReplyDeleteGlad you had a nice trip to and from Kitchener . Lovely photos ! Oh those kitties are funny aren't they ? Thanks for sharing , Have a good day !
ReplyDeleteSo sorry for your family's loss.
ReplyDeleteLove to see your kitties, you, and the darling Mousehouse again.
You were "this" close to my house....next time....for sure!
ReplyDeleteLove your kitchen....tiny like my cottage kitchen....
Red did not miss YOU...he missed the seed! Hahaha!
I got a fancy schmancy feeder for Mother's Day...."red-proof".....take that red!
Enjoy your week,,,,raining tonight!
Cheers!
Linda :o)
I love that Dave is coming over! I bet Sierra does have "thoughts" about it though!
ReplyDeleteI am glad you made the trip safely and are home again. Blessings for these days...
Love,
Lily
