I get her.

Audrey loves going on adventures even if it's just to Canadian Tire for oil.
Here she is waiting on the retired-guy and watching all the human beans go by.

She is in a crate while we are driving, though, for fear she opens a window and jumps out.
She'd do that, ya know.
She was a 'good girl' (for Audrey) so the next stop was to pick her up a little something new to avoid boredom setting in.
She has claimed it and it is by far her new favorite hang-out. She uses it for bird-watching but I may have to put a blankie inside so she can make a hidey-hole.

                                             "She gets me."

A fox moves in & more of Fall's splendor.

Look at who is snoozin' in my step-back cupboard today.

A little clay fox.  Isn't she adorable.
A fox is a female to me...I don't know why.

What a sweet surprise to find this at my door along with a beautiful card from Rian at http://olderbut.blogspot.ca/
zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

"What is this crazy thing I see here?"
"Hey...how come it's not chewable?"

Even the audacious one had her big lion nose in the cupboard checking out the new addition.

Once she knew she couldn't eat it, it was back to her favorite perch for bird-watching.

"I can't waste my time on the uneatables"

Thank you, Rian, for this sweet addition to my cupboard. I love it so much. :)
Rian is a potter, too, and does beautiful work. Drop over and meet her four adorable cats. Rian also takes care of a family of ferals on her property. She's such a kind lady. :)

Speaking of 'love', just look at this kitchen window I found on pinterest. I think it's so pretty.
Had to share.
                                                      This just makes me smile.
I hope all my Canadian friends had a nice Thanksgiving weekend. We will actually be celebrating next weekend as due to some illness and work-schedules in the family we were unable to get together.

We are having fabulous weather this week coming up. High temperatures for this time of year and lots of sunshine. The trees will all soon be in full-show. Here's the prettiest
tree outside the mouse-house kitchen window today.
                                                              Our maple tree

This is the tree that shades Simon's house.
                                                "Howdy."

Enjoy your week.

An autumn walk...

I love walks in the Fall and feel very lucky to live in a beautiful area to do just that today. Just down our country road is a gorgeous new development surrounded by old maples that are putting on quite a show right now.

It's a one hour walk that goes by very quickly.

Heading back up our road, I enjoy the beautiful red leaves of the sumac tree.

And as I turn in the drive-way I notice the golden sun setting on St. Francis.

And you can see how Audrey chose to spend her afternoon.

"Happy Thanksgiving to all my Canadian friends."

Maples & a table for two..or ten.

Through the mouse-house corner kitchen window...
(three faces that make me smile)

I introduce to you...

one of our magnificent maple trees.
I am anxiously waiting for it to astound us with it's colourful show. I expect that will happen in another week. Stay tuned as it will be amazing..
It is just under this tree that Simon calls *home*.

I am convinced after feeding birds for three years now that bird feeders are unnecessary if you have a clean, flat, sturdy surface for the birds to land on.
I have brought in, from the back of our lot, the bird feeders and left a little bistro table for them to use over the next couple of months. The birds love the easy-to-land-on surface and there's plenty of room for everyone. And it's so easy to wipe off each morning.
It will do 'til the snow flies then I will have a covered platform feeder for them.

"Where do I start?"

This little chickadee sat right by my foot as I photographed the birds coming to the table. It seemed to be very comfortable in my presence.
Are they not the sweetest birds ever.

Oh, ya.
With a side-dish of tuna, s'il vous plait.

Thank goodness you're an in-door cat, Audrey.

Our scary scarecrow & chippy preferences.

Our whisker-less garden cat got booted out of her spot by a friendly little scarecrow today.

This will surely scare off those pesky crows.

That's ok, greeter cat, you have the title of 'greeter' for eleven months of the year. :)

See that little red house behind the scarecrow.  That is a squirrel feeder that we built for our resident family during the winter last year.  They pop inside, out of the wind, to eat their seeds and nuts. In -30C they really appreciate it.

Someone else likes to use it, too.
That's our little Simone; Simon's lady-friend.

                                             "Hi, Simone."
She loves it in there.
He's not well-mannered when it comes to sharing his food so she eats there and he eats at his front door.

                           *Ding-dong*...delivery service.

He enjoys his daily apple soooo much.
His preference is Mac's.
And he always takes a big chunk into his den for later.
He probably has enough down there to make a pie.

*nom...nom*

He's starting to fill up his pantry now for winter.
What could it possibly look like down there?
Simon may have a few more hoard areas. :)

He's such a handsome little guy.

"Yes, he does look delicious, doesn't he?"

"AUDREY!"

There's always room for...two more.

I purchased two new tea mugs for my step-back.

I know what you were thinking. =^..^= =^..^=

A different blue but that's ok. There's no rules here. If I like them they come home with me.

My Yorkshire black tea tasted especially good in this new addition.

This, on the other hand, did not need any help.
;-)

Annie thinks..."hmmm, a new cat wouldn't be such a bad thing.
Audrey, well, need I say.
