I could hold her for a million years

Rae-Rae & Joe are heading out with my daughter to live in a new home. I'm happy for them and I will be close to my daughter which is always a bonus (maybe she will come over and cook with me) but I will miss her and Little Rae-Rae. Joe was an indoor-outdoor cat while he stayed with us so we did not have much time together and he certainly ruffled the feathers of the old gals but Rae & I bonded tight.
So....off they go.
What is the good side of this, you ask? My squirrels and birds will once again enjoy being fed every day by me.
If Joe was still here we would have had to forgo this or they would have been targets for the mighty hunter. I don't feed the squirrels in the warmer months so this is around the time I would start each year. I have a beautiful maple tree where they live and do not wander far from if the food is plentiful. Looking forward to seeing them again.
"Joe, try to stay out of trouble so your nose will finally heal and leave the poor squirrels alone. You are very special to  us so do your best to be a 'good boy'."

.....but I will miss a funny, chubby and precious little fur-bundle. She helped me deal with the loss of Maggie and I really feel that she knows she is special to me. I love this 'little one'.
The school kids will miss her (oh, will they ever) as she always waited in the kitchen window for them to go by so she could do all her cute little acrobatic moves for them.
I hope she enjoys the new house and finds a window where school kids go by each day. They will be in for a treat.
"Be a good girl, Rae. I'll miss you"

hugs, Deb
(I'll be starting to think of Christmas now and with that in mind it will help when I am missing this little girl. I already know what Santa is bringing her :)

  2. I just don't know how you do it. You have a heart of gold. But you must also have a very generous spirit and strong resolve. I admire you.

On a brighter note, I am a HUGE squirrel freak!! I fee the ones here at my condo in the wintertime. I used to feed them all year til the neighbors were ready to kill me
