One Beer Fridge coming through....

Well, it looks like my kitchen Christmas tree will be standing on a beer fridge this year. I don't know about you but I think it will look rather quirky and fun. Gary won one at work last week and the only place we can think of putting it is in the kitchen under the window where I wanted my tree to go so................

I hate beer but I did pose for a pic with the best (apparently) which is a Guinness. I have never in my life been photographed drinking a beer so I thought it was time. I have many prints of me and a friendly wine glass in my hand but never a beer. The stuff disgusts me.

When my daughter saw this picture she wrote me and said "You faker.....you would never drink that."
She's right but somehow I thought it was time to at least give credit to beer. I have washed my hair in it and added it to a beef roast but drink it....NEVER! Although, millions of people can't be wrong so "Here's to Beer and our new Beer Fridge."

Let me make a small correction - that would be MY beer fridge (Gary here).  Anyone who would wash their hair in beer will not be associated with my fine new Guinness fridge that I won in a draw at the pub (The Royal Oak) that my colleagues and I go to every Friday.  While Deb's Canadian friends will likely recognize the vintage Canadian "stubby" beer bottle that I am holding. I should perhaps say a word about the venerable Canadian Stubby, which was almost a Canadian institution for three decades (1961 to 1084). Actually, they give a better history at the link above than I could, so just read about it there.  A word about Guinness though, their slogan, "Guinness is good for you" is more than just an advertising hook  My Grampa Steckly actually had a doctors prescription for a pint of Guinness a day, as a blood builder (lots of iron apparently).  That vintage bottle in my hand was one of his empties that never made it back to the brewers retail (I saved a whole case of them as memorabilia).

It seemed like you could fit a lot more of these bottles in your fridge because they were such compact little suckers, and you could stuff them in the smaller side compartments where those long neck bottles just wouldn't go.

Now on to more important things from Deb.....

A little white kitty needs your help...
Little Boo needs a home so she can enjoy Christmas with a new family. She sits at our local animal shelter since May/10. Let's all put good thoughts out for Boo and perhaps her special person will find her.

hugs, Deb

  2. Oh wow, my husband would (unfortunately) be so jealous of that fridge. And I (unfortunately) hate beer.

  3. Oh, I hope someone in your area takes poor Boo. I hate beer too. Actually I hate the taste of wine as well. Yeah, I'm just not the type to look elegant with a glass of wine anyway.

  4. Whats up this is kinda of off topic but I was wondering if blogs use WYSIWYG editors or if
you have to manually code with HTML. I'm starting a blog soon but have no coding experience so I wanted to get advice from someone with experience. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

this. And he in fact ordered me breakfast due to the fact
that I found it for him... lol. So allow me to reword this.
... Thank YOU for the meal!! But yeah, thanks for spending the time to talk about this subject here on your internet site.
