So easy and so tasty

When I cook rice I always make it in my rice-cooker. To add flavour, I chop onion and garlic and cook that in a sauce-pan in olive oil. I then chop up whatever veggies I have available and add them to the onion and garlic. At this point you may want to add a little more oil. I then add any spices and a little pepper.

fresh oregano from the garden

Cook this over med-high heat for just a couple of minutes stirring often and then simmer. Once all veggies are cooked to your satisfaction, this is where the rice is added from the cooker. Add rice and toss together. This makes a great side-dish or a main dish for vegetarians if chick-peas are added.

"Don't mention it"

Cat-tip-for-the-day=^..^=How to keep that kitty cool
1. Fresh cool water at all times.
2. If your cat is outdoors be sure they have a shady spot to rest.
3. Stay away from hot cars. If you must travel with your cat be sure to have it air-conditioned and make the trip as short as possible.
4. Consider a clip for your long-haired cats.

  1. The veggie rice sounds perfect! I think I'll make some for this lazy Sunday's dinner! Sure wish I had Ed to keep me company in the kitchen. Got a kitty crush on him, you know.

  6. Hi Deb,
Cat question for you. What brought it to mind is seeing that gorgeous Mr. Ed! OH, I'm soo in love! Anyway; I see Mr. Ed's claws and they look thick & yellowish. My Stella who is 16 has one claw that won't retract anymore. Nor does it grow so I don't trim it. Is that common with age?

    best,
    Stacy
