Starting the day

Up too early thanks to Cali & Ed. At 19, Cali has signs of cat dementia and roams the house early in the morning calling out. "Hellooooooo.....anybody there?"  Once fed, she settles down for the day. Ed came upstairs to have a drink of water from the bathroom parfait glass and clomps his way around sounding like someone hammering the wood floors. It is 6 am.

Downstairs to make coffee and feed the lions.

The sun is just coming up. Across the road is a tree-farm where we choose our Christmas tree.
Lily waits for a bit of milk when I make the coffee.

Once fed, the grooming of kitten begins.
I have a busy day ahead so this might be good to get an early start.
I am off to feed and care for today's charges, bunnies included. Must not forget to add carrots to the cat-bag. Boo and Peppers favorite treat is cole-slaw.

I have shopping for Christmas to do and I try to do as much as I can locally. I prefer shopping in the small towns than in the big box stores. And, I must get this cabinet moved out of my hall-way before...
Looks like I might be too late.

Here comes the sun.
Wishing everyone a fabulous day.
hugs, Deb

  1. I love early mornings with all the cats, except that they can go back to be whenever they feel like it,and I can't.

  3. Early starts seem to boost ones efficiency.
We suspect that hearing Ed clumping around is more of a comfort than anything else. It means our precious little man is still raring to go. Love, love, love him!
Can't wait to hear how it goes with the bunnies!

  6. I always found it amazing how much Bailey "took possession" of things around the house and hated when there was change! Looks like Audrey is going to have issues. Have a happy day with your "clients" and stay warm. XOXO

  13. Your cabinet has a denizen! My KonaKitty is getting senile also, she wanders, and can't settle, like there's something she wants to do but can never remember what it is...it's hard seeing them age, isn't it? I treasure our snuggle time every night.

  14. Ya know, Deb, having loved seeing you decorate your cabinet so beautifully in the past and liking it so much myself anyway... I would be stopping by to see if younger daughter might not have room for it and I would take it home with me but I Goggled the distance between our front doors and it is over 2,500 miles! Now if you would allow Sierra to stay in there and come along with it, it might be worth it the trip even so! I would get her her own postman!
I was just thinking yesterday that we hadn't heard about Cali lately and how she was doing with the dementia. I hope she continues on well enough. Love to her.
And love to everyone else, too,

  15. I had an old cat who used to go "clomping around" too. You miss hearing it when it's gone. I'm glad Ed is still clomping away!
