"Don't you just want to eat him up?"
Which brings me to the retired-guys' Buckwheat Pancakes...
They were delicious with the addition of real maple syrup. No bacon for me but apparently that made them even better.
I recommend you try them.
1 cup buckwheat flour
1 tsp baking powder
2 Tbsp sugar
1/2 tsp salt
1 egg beaten
1 cup milk
2 Tbsp melted butter
Preheat griddle to 375F
Grease griddle
Mix dry ingredients then add egg, milk and butter.
Pour 1/4 cup of batter for each pancake. Cook 1 to 1 1/2 minutes turning when bubbles appear on the surface and edges look cooked.
What is it about old retired guys (his words) and CBC radio? That's all we listen to in the car now. However, sometimes good things come of these old guy obsessions. The buckwheat pancakes being one example.

those eyes, those beautiful chocolate eyes, yes I could just eat him up...what a pretty pretty boy he is...
ReplyDeleteWhat gorgeous eyes! So unique and beautiful. Those pancakes look so yummy. I've never tried buckwheat flour, but heard a lot about it lately.
ReplyDeleteDidn't have buckwheat p cakes yesterday but tried the frozen GF waffles. Not too bad. Iain heard the interview too. Sounds like a controversial subject. Oh well controversy keeps the world moving I guess. I am doing a flourless chocolate cake for tomorrow ---- gotta be good it is chocolate!!
ReplyDeleteHave a good day!
Those eyes remind me of prized marbles we had as kids. Very very yummy!
I say YUM to all three: choc boy's eyes, pancakes AND J. Giomeshi!!!!!! Total eye candy, all three! :)
ReplyDeleteOh Deb! He's gorgeous! He's even more beautiful than I'd imagined he'd be! Those eyes are beyond exquisite! How could you just not spend your whole day looking into those amazing eyes and that captivating little face! I've fallen head over heels in love with this little guy. He's breathtaking and radiates sweetness too! Love him!
ReplyDeleteI'm trying to stay away from wheat and I feel better. Will def try The Retired Guy's pancakes.
So cute cat. I like your photos.:-) Hugs
ReplyDeleteThose eyes...those eyes!! I love buckwheat pancakes; too bad we don't live closer and we could have had a pancake buffet! XOXO
ReplyDeleteOMGosh! Those eyes are beautiful! What a gorgeous cat! Def going to try those pancakes, I'll use FF buttermilk, I think. Since I have some languishing in my fridge...Love your pics!
ReplyDeleteThose eyes are mesmerizing!
ReplyDeleteYou have to have real maple syrup. Corn syrup and the stuff you see on the store shelves that's been mass produced just won't do. It'll cost you, but the stuff lasts, and it's all the better.
AWW! So cute !!!! My mom just fall in love with those chocolate eyes

ReplyDeleteBuckwheat pancakes always remind me of my late father, he made them all the time (but from a mix).
