Annie

Annie relaxing after breakfast this morning.
The mornings are cooler and by noon the A/C is on.
Annie loves to sit by the screened patio door after her 6am feeding and listen to the birds.
Then it's off to the front window to watch them in our trees until late-morning sleep takes over.
Annie
We have to watch her intake of food as she is a 'social eater' and loves to indulge anytime food appears.
Her motto..'Eat when the opportunity presents itself'
(that is very common in cats that were abandoned and starved)
and since the oldsters need 'extra' food throughout the day we have to feed them on the deck or Annie helps herself.
Since her spay last year she is up a couple of extra pounds. :-b

NO dry food left out for constant nibbling and scheduled meals made up of mostly soft food is the weight-reduction plan. Lots of exercise through play in the evening.

She does have a little reducing to do (2 pounds) but hey....who doesn't. We are working on it.

hugs, Deb

  4. Our Harley does the same thing in the mornings but I feed her in the evening at 5 pm as she is a night cat and active then and sleeps in the day ! No left over kibble for Harley as she was getting pudgy and our vet told us if there is food left over she doesn't need it so she gets a tea spoon of wet as most of that wet food is very fatty and indoor dry half a cup oh and no Temptations as they are high in fats to and is like a full meal to a cats body so we give her in door Whiskas and only one a day ! The things we do for our beloved fur babies . Wonderful photos . Thanks for sharing . Have a good day and stay cool.

  7. Annie is such a sweetie, and so are you for taking her and her daughter in! She's much like my Theo, when he sees food, he must eat!

  8. I've enjoyed catching up with your last several posts and especially reading about Annie when she was a 'teen-age' mother.
Kittens are so darling with their squeezed-shut eyes and tiny folded ears. Who could have guessed that Audrey would become such a personality--and how did you ever choose which of the three babies to keep?
Our cats have all been 'rescue' cats and we have several with the chronic over-eating issues. Haven't found a good solution as it seems we need to have the kibble out free choice.

  9. "Never miss a chance" could be the motto of some kitties when it comes to food! But Annie sure is a sweetie. I am glad you are able to work around keeping them all healthy there.
    Enjoy your mornings, Annie!

  11. Miss Pops is too heavy too. She is on diet biscuits and only gets a few in the evening and some for breakfast. Dinner is a can of fancy feast. If I cut down too much, I don't get any sleep as she wakes me every half hour. She will be slimmer in the summer, as she runs around the garden more than during the winter.
