Flash & Quincy.

I said "So long" to two of the most handsome boys I know today. My kitty-clients, Flash & Quincy.
I gave them hugs and combed their gorgeous coats. I told them I would miss them and for them to be happy; be good boys and live a long and love-filled life.

I left them and cried all the way home.

It's not getting any easier, folks.

hugs, Deb

  1. Oh Deb, it's so sad to leave your dear little kitty friends. I hope when you get settled into the new home you feel like starting your kitty sitting again.
I know those kitties are going to miss you too. I can't imagine any sitter who will take the time that you did to play with them, groom them and have meaningful conversations.

What gorgeous boys, you've got to hand it to those orange and white cats, they can steal our hearts.

  6. Your good-byes are breaking my heart ... As I know they are yours, too. You showed these kitties so much love and care, and they are better for having known you.

  7. Deb- I rather know how you are feeling. I had a small dog-walking business years ago. I loved all the dogs I walked & took care of. When we moved, I had to say goodbye and it stretched my heart to its limit. I wondered if I was the right person to do that job because I felt so emotional about it. Truth is - I was. You are, too. Because we care so much & take care of them as if they are our own. I didn't do much with dogs for several years, but now I volunteer 6 days a week at the Humane Society, walking & loving shelter dogs. You will go through strong emotions. Hang on. It does get easier over time. Thank goodness there are people like you that care so much. Thank you for all the loving kindness you have given to all those cats.

  8. Deb, you care about your clients and your business was all yours. Now you have a new chapter opening up. I can't wait to see it unfold. It will involve animals of that I am sure, even if it's only your own brood.

  11. These are my favorite of your clients and I'll miss seeing their photos -- they remind me so of Stimpy. It must be hard indeed to leave them behind.

  12. My heart breaks knowing how hard this is, but I have no doubt you'll be meeting more kitties that need your attention once you're settled. XOXO

  13. Those are a couple of beautiful cats. Would imagine that it has been (and will be) an emotional rollercoaster for you. Hope it works out for you to cat sit in your new area.

  14. Oh Deb,

I am so sorry the price of loving well is the pain that comes upon parting. You did so well at loving your kitty clients that this would have to hurt so badly. I hope you will be able to see them now and then for a little visit.

Wishing I could send you much comfort today... you will be okay. Hang on, friend.

    Love and prayers,
    Lily

  15. If I were to hire a cat sitter I would want it to be someone that would cry when they knew they wouldn't be seeing my babies any more. What a trail of happiness and love you are leaving behind you.
