A Pretty Kitty to admire and some serious info on Cat Scratch Disease.

I am off to see this vision of beauty. The Gordon Lightfoot concert was wonderful. It goes without saying that his voice is not what it was since he has been ill but it was so great to see him again after all these years. During the concert he mentioned that he lives with a cat now and enjoys his grand-children when they come to visit. I was thinking....hmmm, I wonder who he gets to kitty-sit when he is on tour? I used to live on the same street as him in Rosedale, Toronto. I rented the top of a gorgeous old home and he owned the biggest, old home on the street. When Bob Dylan came to Toronto he stayed with him and I still remember walking past the house hoping to get a glimpse of him. No....I didn't.

I'm not feeling well today (cough!) so this will be a day for kitty-sitting and then relaxing at home. Hope your day is a good one. Deb

I am ending this post with some serious information on Cat Scratch Disease. This is caused by the organism Bartonella. This is a concern if your cat is infested with fleas and flea dirt. The Bartonella organism grows inside the flea. When the flea 'poops' on your cat (flea dirt) the organism is transfered from the flea to the dirt. If flea dirt is on your cat's nails and then you are scratched, the contamination is transfered to you. The symptoms may be fever and lymph-node tenderness. If not diagnosed properly this can become very serious. Please take a look at the website for more information. I will post more on flea-control soon.

This beauty does not have fleas.
