More rain on voting day.

It's so wet today. Helma was soaked to the skin when I arrived to give her breakfast because she can go in and out on her own at her home and then guard 2 acres from all intruders. I towelled her down which she loves and then before I left she was ready for a nap.
Sierra hasn't given up her spot on this new cat-scratcher. She just loves it. I think there is more sleeping on it than scratching going on.

"It's mine, it's all mine."
I am feeling rather good today. I lost 2 pounds since Friday (is that you laughing?) and that's without starving myself, just being careful. I bought some fresh, free-range, local brown eggs and besides supporting our local farmers they taste so much better than your normal grocery store eggs. Great with a salad.
Kane joined me and had a couple of eggs, too. I'm snacking on kiwi these days.
I am not using salad dressing for awhile, just lemon juice and pepper. It is awesome like that.

Hope you are enjoying sun where you are. We aren't.
Won't stop us from voting though.

hugs, Deb

Hmmm... I am weighing up the options... Your way of life is either utter madness or sheer genius (knowing cats as I do). I may watch and ponder... I suppose the possibility that you are a mad genius is another verdict available... We'll see. When you say "in-home", whose home? If it is your home the evidence may be leaning towards madness. Perhaps the answers are within - this is my first visit (jumping over from that other mad genius Knatolee's place).

  3. Hi Andrew - Welcome to Just-cats in-home cat-sitting service. I'm not quite the mad-woman you think....I go to the cats. It works great. I care for cats in their own home while their owners travel. I didn't think I could make a business out of it but over the years it has grown into a full-time service. No walks (as with dogs) just lots of TLCC (tender-lovin' cat care) which comes very natural to me.
We have many pampered pussy-cats in our area.

Hugs, Deb=^..^=x5 (5 of my own) Oh! Oh! Now you most likely think I AM MAD!!

  5. OK, I'll grant you sanity meantime, but I hope your own cats don't find out. They can be jealous. I'm sure they must suspect, at least. Cat's know much more than us, I believe, but they just don't think we should be trusted with the truth. They work by allowing us to think we are smarter than them, but the evidence of who has the cushier lifestyle is the big giveaway. Sometimes I see that look in their eye - that "If only you knew..." look. In fact I can see it in the "Muffin Guard" photo to the right.

  7. We haven't had a drop of rain in so long..... we have huge cracks in the ground.... seeems like there's too muc or not enough.

I'm sitting here tonight waiting for our granddaughter to bring us a cat. I really didn't want another cat, but she's newly married...2 huge dogs a cat, working and going to college, and she took in her husband's grandmother's cat (the grandmother died)...I've never seen the cat, but she's a Ragdoll, seal point mitted...whatever that is... I have the room all set up for her, and hoping all goes well with her and our 17 year old cat. I'll keep them separated at first... Any suggestions?

  9. Yummm - that salad looks good. M says she'll have to try no dressing - just lemon juice and a little seasoning. Good idea.
