Come along...

and walk with Kane
It's one of my favorite ways to enjoy the sun. I never could stay still long enough to sun tan even when I was young. (many moons ago) We walked along the old rail-line that is now history for this town.
then along the Mississippi River
That's our town hall in the distance
Beautiful, isn't it!
Did we get our feline fix? Of course..they are everywhere.

And a cat in the window
                                     to complete our stroll.
Then headed home for some tea for me and for Kane..cheese please.
And seeing we are out of cookies I'm going to bake a batch of chocolate chip & walnut.
I doubt you want the recipe even though they are scrumpdillyishus.
Oh alright,  here goes..

Chocolate Chip Walnut cookies
(out of the Canadian Mennonite Cook-book)
1/2 cup of soft butter
3/4 cup of brown sugar
1 large egg ( hopefully organic, free-range brown egg)
1/4 tsp. of  vanilla
1 cup of flour
1/4 tsp. of salt
1/4 tsp. of baking soda
1 tbsp. cornstarch (makes them puff up a bit)
1/2 cup of chocolate chips and a handful of walnuts
Grease cookie sheet or use parchment paper. Mix all above ingredients. Drop by teaspoon on well-greased cookie sheet and bake at 350 degrees for 10 minutes.
(2 dozen or so)
Enjoy!

I had a day off from cat-sitting today and this weekend I'll be back at it with bells on. New kitties to show you soon.

 Hugs, Deb

  6. Your town has a beautiful skyline. I had to smile at your Mississippi River picture. It's a little wider here in St. Louis by about half a mile. Your section is much prettier, though.

As always, I love the cats in the windows. Kane is so pretty, sorry, handsome.

  7. Deb: I am now your newest follower. I don't know how I missed you. Love your cat life. We have a Maggie, but she is rather shy and spends alot of time on her Princess Pillow by the fire in our bedroom. She was a throw away that lived under the school where my husband worked. She had two litters of kittens when she was just a babe herself. We brought her home about 9 years ago and we just love her..Happy Weekend..Judy P.S. Love your sidebar pics. Great fan of T. Tudor.
