Are we there yet?

Our move went well albeit the cats were stark-raving mad when we finally reached our destination. I'm sure that doesn't surprise anyone.

All I can say is that the next move will be next door and that's about as far as I'll ever want to go.
"I hate moving." Let's make that clear.

Much thanks to our family for their help and patience.
It wasn't easy getting furniture up sixteen steps. Our stairs will be finished now that the move is over.

I have to give credit to these wonderful animals of ours, too.

Ten minutes after arriving.

They have been through a lot with the upset at the previous house (boxes everywhere and not one to play in), the long car ride and then the shock of a new environment. All I want to do for the next few days is make their world a little safer and calmer.

Audrey discovering the birds.

I'm looking forward to decorating the mouse-house now. We do have a few things to finish up and then I'm going shopping. :))
And, I have a beautiful vase waiting for some Spring flowers to christen this new home. And maybe a favored bottle of wine. :)

I can't wait to show the kitties all the birds that come by. I have to get a feeder placed outside the garage window where Audrey has been promised a cat tree with a big , comfy perch.

How many more days 'til Spring? It's count-down time. :)

I am thrilled to be here. It is where I pictured myself for many years; it is a dream come true.
I can feel the presence of my grandmother, my mother, my family on this country lot.
I just need to take a deep breath now.

I have some catching up to do tomorrow.
Stay toasty,
Deb

  8. Yes! You are finally home to a place that has always meant so much. I am thrilled all went well and now you can settle in there together. I am so happy for you and proud of you all for making this dream come true.

And yay for those kitties! The photo of them all together ON TOP OF a bed instead of under it just minutes after you arrived...well, that says so much about how secure they really are in their lives with you. Wonderful, Deb, just wonderful.

Blessings upon all who live in or visit your new home. May the days be extra sweet for you all.

    Love,
    Lily

  17. I'm glad you got to be where you want to be - not many people achieve that.
Moving is terribly stressful for cats, but they look fine in the pics.
Good luck and happiness, looking forward to reading more about your new home.

  18. Dear Lady,
Hope you are happy in your new house and that the kits settle down nicely. I so envy you the feeling of all your family there; I only get that when I shop in Leeds, West Yorkshire, England. This was my home city and where I most feel at home. May you have lots of wonderful years in your new plot and enjoy decorating, you do that so well. Much love Andie xx and the for the kits xxx

  23. I'm so happy for you. I love the picture of the three on the bed...glad the long ride is over. Bet Miss Audrey was first to check things out. She is beautiful in that picture.

  24. The worst is over! Cats sure do hate change of any kind (I can relate). But, I imagine that all will be forgotten and forgiven once they are tuned into Cat TV. My cats love to watch the birds outside - they lie at the glass and do their best 'ick-ick-ick' invitation... :)

  25. The worst is over. The animals will forget the fuss, if they haven't already, in the excitement of the new sights and sounds. In a week or two, it'll be as if they had always been there.

What a wonderful step for you and your family, back to your land.

  26. Well I don't think the cats get as stressed as we do, as long as they have you with them and their same things are there in the new place they get adjusted pretty quick. They look pretty comfortable! Keep warm and enjoy setting up a nice small space, less to do!

  27. I'm so happy for you that the move went well. Audrey is going to have a ball with a cat tree. And Siera reminds me of my late tabby boy, Zebby Cat, with her nose buried in the bedding. I'm sure Annie is happy as you are there.

All 5 of you are going to have so much fun watching the house being built and enjoying your wonderful plot there. Sending care and huggles, with purry head-butts from little round Megs, Michelle in Wellington, NZ

  29. Glad you and the cats finally made it. I bet that car ride was no fun for anyone, but it looks as if the kitties recovered quickly. I think that wherever YOU are, the cats will consider home. And the bird-watching will make up for a lot!

  33. Yes, I think the next few days will be the equivalent of tea and toast cat-style for your gang. But I'm so relieved the move is over and now you can simply settle in.

  34. Oh Deb! This is so wonderful! How about celebrating with a vase of pussy willow stems. Nothing spells early spring like pussy willows and they are ever so appropriate !
