Let's have Tea & Blueberry Muffins

Blueberry Muffins

Here ya go...

1/2 cup butter, melted and cooled
2 cups flour
1 1/4 cups sugar
2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 cup whole milk
1 tbsp. of olive oil
2 large eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
2 cups ( I use 1 1/2 cups) fresh blueberries

Bake at 350 degrees for 25 minutes
Sift flour, sugar & baking powder into a large bowl
In a small bowl. whisk butter, oil, milk, eggs and vanilla

Stir wet into dry. Do not over-mix. Fold in berries

These are my all-time favorite muffins. You must try them if you like blueberries. If not, throw in your favorite berries instead.
We love these with black tea and a little milk.  :)

Wild-flowers planted in the tea-cup
Cat planted in a basket.

Today we have rain. It is dark, dull and wet out there.
We have the bedroom window to trim and some things yet to hook up.
There are shelves to hang in the garage after it is straightened up a bit better.
We have lots to do inside.
Work never ends at the mouse-house.
And
I have pulled out my favorite cook-book.
This was written in 1989.
"Just look at that cover."* oh my goodness :)
The recipes are delicious, too.

Well, it's still raining but we are in for a warmer and drier weekend.

Sierra wishes you all a

comfy-cozy day.

I'm joining Farmgirl Friday @ http://deborahjeansdandelionhouse.blogspot.ca/

  4. Blueberry muffins on a blue plate - perfect! I think I would be setting that lovely, china covered book right into my step back! It is gorgeous like a piece of art!

Really, I think that the change of scenery has done wonders for Sierra's expression - sweeter every time I see her! Does she seem especially contented these days? Maybe she has always secretly longed for her family to live mouse house sized!

    Love,
    Lily

  9. Your muffins look delicious Deb and thank you for your recipe!
I make these too but more in the colder weather which is creeping in now that summer is at an end on my side of the world!
I love all your blue and white china - I brake for it too, ha ha!
Wasn't Linda McCartney a delightful soul, I wasn't aware she had written a cookbook, I'll keep an eye out for it as I love vegetarian.
Give Sierra a cuddle for me please Deb - I'm a furball lover too!

  10. Hi Sierra - oops you too dear Deb!
I love muffins and I guess the blueberries make them healthy - my excuse for eating something sweet!
Linda was lovely and so talented, and a dedicated vegetarian - I don't have her cookbook but must look for it. The Welsh dresser behind her is beautiful with those gorgeous pieces of blue and white transferware, sigh! Your version is fabulous too Deb, you have a lovely collection, and I know you love anything with shelves, just like me!

Hope the weather brightens for you soon - we've had a mini-heatwave, temps. at 80F for 3 consecutive days! Too warm, too soon for me.

    Happy weekend - Mary
