A DIY gift 'with love' & a plan

I had a lot of fun putting together a recipe book of some of my mothers', my mother-in-laws' and my own favorite recipes for my three kids.
In the chaos of the day I did not get many pictures of it but you get the idea. I know they will enjoy trying out these recipes that they have loved since they were little gaffers and I left a little bit of room in the book for them to add their own favorites, too.

I am still running around enjoying all my visits with the cats in my care. I truly love this job and don't even consider it work but I do have a plan for the future. I hope to open a cat-boarding kennel on a piece of property that we own in the country. Of course, we will build a home there also and hopefully it will all start to happen in 2011. I need to start praying about this one. It will be my little piece of heaven with a little cat kennel right next door. A brand spanking new home and a brand spanking new building to turn into a beautiful little cat kennel. Just the thought of it is so exciting I could faint.

I have a lot to research in the next few months so I will keep you posted on this. Should be fun! I know of a local rescue near the property and would want to foster for them once we have a building.  They always need more foster homes. In the meantime, I will keep caring for cats in their own homes (where I think they are happiest) and I will certainly continue that also in the country if the owners prefer. I'd like to be able to give them the option. Rather unique, I do believe.

hugs, Deb

  2. Ooh I'm so excited for you opening a boarding cattery. We have a shortage of boarding facilities around these parts, mostly the vets are the only ones who board cats and the space is limited.
It's something I have always wanted to do also...
The cookbook project is so sweet, I wish we would have done that with my MIL's recipes, now they are lost forever.
Keep us posted about the progress,
    Hugs,
