Well, that was one heck of a busy Christmas but fun, nonetheless.
All the kitties were cared for (thanks for your help, retired-guy, I'd have been late for dinner without you) and we were home and ready for the family to arrive. May I just say right now...cooking the turkey and stuffing the day before was probably one of the most brilliant ideas we've had in a long time.
I'll be tweaking the dining-room soon and I'll show you why.
Audrey will look for Ruby for awhile and then settle down with the oldsters.
She had a great time with her sister but alas all fun does come to an end.
She seems pretty pooped today and will join the others around the wood-stove.
Cat-sitting will go at a slower pace now as some of my clients are home safe and sound. Still, it is a busy time until after New Years.
I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas. Among a mountain of gifts, Santa left the men hats to give them a dapper look this cold, crisp Christmas morn. I must say we do have some handsome men in this family.
No, they did not call each other to see what they'd be wearing.
Leftovers today and that is just fine with me. The cats will be lined up for their turkey bits and that's just fine with them. Have a wonderful Boxing Day, everyone.

Turkey man and turkey-lovin', wreath-wearing dog.
Much less stress Christmas day and it was one of his best, yet.

And for the vegetarians
A stuffed squash with rice, apples, pecans and spices.
Mmmmm
That Santa was one generous fellow this year.
Little Bradley slept through the whole gift-giving and dinner time.

That looks like a perfect family Christmas! A tuckered out Audrey will be treat for today while you get your second wind for cat sitting to the end of the holidays.
ReplyDeleteLooks like a wonderful family Christmas. We had chicken (we're not much of meat eaters) and we basically just enjoyed shredding it to bits for 37 cats. They of course LOVED it! That was the greatest bit of fun this Christmas.

What a wonderful family holiday! Ours was quiet, except for a very happy 4 year old and his toys! I've come down with a cold, but it's typical with all the stress; hoping the New Year will be great for everyone:-D
ReplyDeleteLooks like you had a great spread, a variety of goodies. Those cats just keep me highly entertained.

I love that pic of your kitchen and that your hubs helps you. That's how we get it all done too. The men in all the same hat (unplanned) is cool. hugs, olive
ReplyDeleteLooks like you had a great time, I can't believe Audrey is actually tired out! I hope turkey-lovin' wreath-wearing dog was suitable rewarded for his patience :O) That squash sounds and looks delicious - happy veggies!
ReplyDeleteThat squash looks awsome! I wish I had some now. Howdid you reheat the turkey that it didn't get rubbery or dry.
ReplyDeleteThe napkins!!!!! Where did you get the napkins ???? Is that Audrey??? Goodness gracious, they are adorable beyonf words!
What a wonderful Christmas! Love the cute guys in hats!!! I had a good time with Tiger and I'm home now and exhausted! I think tomorrow is a day of rest! Hugs, Linda

What a wonderful looking Family Christmas! So glad all went well with the kitties in your care! And so happy that the "do ahead" turkey and dressing worked so well. We did that for Thanksgiving this year and thought it was a keeper! The stuffed squash looks yummy - would you like to share a recipe? And last but so not least - Audrey napkins! Too cute!
ReplyDeleteHave a great boxing day!

Looks like a lovely family Christmas Deb. I made it easy too, with a deboned stuffed chicken that only took 45 minutes to cook. It was super hot here, so dinner didn't get cooked til 7pm and it was nice to sit on the deck with Miss pops and share our feast.

Thanks for sharing your sweet family Christmas. How thoughtful of the young lad to sleep and let his parents and everyone else eat! Enjoy the peace and quiet in between the chaos and festivities!
ReplyDeleteVery nice pictures and thank you for sharing. You may have a good continuation.
