I hope everyone had a lovely Easter.
Our weather has been dark and damp since our family egg-hunt. We certainly picked the right day for it. Easter dinner was the usual; glazed ham with pineapple (I had meatless sausage with pineapple. Who knew that would be so good together), scalloped potatoes, veggies & lovely bread. Apple pie for dessert. And tea, always tea.
So it was a lovely weekend but my mind has been elsewhere.
My dear little Annie has been struggling with her health lately. Last year I found a lump on her chest (above the skin) and took her immediately to Dr. Ann. She was not too concerned at that time as it didn't seem to be growing and wasn't causing any pain. It looked like a small cyst so we decided to just keep an eye on it.
Nothing changed until recently and now this small growth has become larger and needs to be removed.
Dr. Ann says it is most-likely a benign tumour because it has remained in one spot and not spread. And it is growing away from the skin. Although Annie has never showed any change in personality, eating habits or litter-box habits, I feel that it is now bothering her (itchy) and I need to find out what we are dealing with. So Annie has been booked for surgery tomorrow and I feel the need to ask for your good thoughts and prayers for my dear, sweet girl.
Annie means the world to me, and when I look into her eyes I am pretty sure the feeling is mutual. So, as you can guess, I am a bit of a wreck over this surgery just as anyone who loves their cat would be.
Perhaps you can include me in your good thoughts and prayers, too.
Thank you so much, dear readers. I'll be back soon.
hugs, Deb

You are both already in my prayers as soon as I saw the title of your post in my feed. Oh, you must be frantic and yet good thoughts from Dr. Ann that must mean a great deal and something to hold onto. Please let us know as soon as possible what the results are. ReplyDeleteI am praying for you and Annie. Charlie had a large growth removed many years ago and I was a wreck during his surgery but he came through just fine and it never grew back. Lots of love, purrs and prayers being said. I know how much Annie means to you.
ReplyDeletePraying all goes well and Annie will be right as rain .
ReplyDeleteMan of man, does this bring back some painful memories. One is not supposed to say, "I know how you feel" at times like these but, believe me, I DO know how you feel and it ain't good.
ReplyDeleteYou and your sweet little Annie will for sure be in my prayers tonight and all day tomorrow. It was always so comforting to me when I knew friends were praying for us and our kitties when they had surgeries or illnesses. I will pray that He will give you strength and calm your fears and that He will give Annie a special measure of His loving comfort. My heart is sad for you, Deb, and for Annie having to go through the pain of surgery.

I understand so well how you are feeling about the threat to Annie's health. I sometimes wonder if the depth of the bond with my cats is quite 'normal'--when one of them is ill or facing inevitable old age, I tend to go to pieces.
ReplyDeleteI hope you will have a good report about your dear Annie--I will be anxious for news.
Our pets are like dear family members....prayer is always needed and appreciated. I do pray it all goes well.
ReplyDeleteSending healing prayers and thoughts your way!!
ReplyDeleteYou are both in my thoughts and in my prayers. xx
ReplyDeleteBoth you and Annie are in my prayers and thoughts. I know how stressful this must be for you. Our furry babies mean so much to us. I'll keep Audrey in my prayers as well - I know she loves her sweet mom.

ReplyDeleteOf course my thoughts will be with Annie and I believe that collective thoughts can work. I'm sure everything will be okay but I know the feeling. We absolutely dread anything going wrong with any of ours.

Absolutely thoughts and prayers to sweet Annie. I had our Clara in last week and she turned out to have interstitial cystitis. Medication is working, but I know how these sweet kitties pull at our heart strings when they're not well. It sounds like you have a very trusted Vet, XOXO
