PHOTOGRAPHING YOUR CAT...and having fun doing it.

You will need to get down to the same level as your cat or place the cat on a table or higher piece of furniture. Be sure that the camera lens is level with the cat. Avoid all eye contact and do not make any quick, aggressive moves. Try throwing a cat-nip stuffed toy and press the shutter while the cat is in mid-air. If you want a regal picture, place the cat on a cushion and be sure there is plenty of light directed at the cat's face. Always move in close as the cat should take up at least half of the frame. A neutral background is best for these shots. Most of all, BE PATIENT as this is not a normal activity for a cat and some do not like all this type of attention. Just have fun!

  2. What a lovely picture. I wish my kitties would be more agreeable when I pull out my camera.
    Will try your advice.
