Time for tea.

I've always loved my blue & white china next to lilacs.
Today we had some very special cookies bought at our little corner store.
They are called Mawner Wien Tortchen
(Finest chocolate caramel cream-filled wafers.)
These wafers are made in Austria.
They are amazingly delicious.

My tea-cup and saucer are called Silverdale and made in Hanley, England.
I keep it in my step-back cupboard along with all my other blue & white.

The background is a place-mat from a set of 4 given to me for Mother's Day by my daughter, Allie.
I love them.

I think it's time to put the tea things away before somebody turns around.

She'll think it's been set just for her.
Doesn't everything belong to the cat?

  1. Tea tastes so much better when it's served in a nice china teacup.

  4. Tea and special cookies taste so much better in the proper setting.

Of course, everything belongs to cats. We provide, and they thank us with their love.

  8. I'm in love with blue and white too but will fall for any lovely English tea cup. You introduced me to mixing cups and saucers and now I always, without fail, do so. A new delight each time. I just wish they'dmake some beautiful, very generously sized cups for us tea jennies.

  11. Deb, as you know, I also love tea and pretty china. I even prefer my coffee in a cup and saucer and not a mug. Heaven forbid they try to serve me in a take-out paper cup - although I do accept that at Starbucks (but then that's not really coffee or tea... but more of a coffee based concoction.)
And of course cats believe that you do everything for them... why wouldn't they?

  12. Everything belongs to the cats, particularly the humans.

From the thumbnail, I wondered if those biscuits were stroepwafels, a Dutch treat.

  13. The cookies remind me of Stroopwaffles, which are a Dutch treat a friend introduced me to. I have Crumb Cake with my tea:-D

  14. ummm, looks delicious. And all your blues look so pretty. Since we moved, most of my blue and white dishes are still packed as I am uncertain where I will put them...no room for a hutch in the dining.....I'll enjoy yours until I find the right spot.

  17. Happy Victoria Day, Deb! I do love your blue and white all set up in your cabinet; looks so pretty! Lilacs look especially lovely with transferware, I think. Both are very charming and lend an old-fashioned feel which I adore. It will be June before our lilacs come. They may even be a little later this year because it had been so cold but we will enjoy them when they do. I am so happy you have joined me for tea today! Have a wonderful week and give those kitties of yours a cuddle for me.

    Blessings,
    Sandi
