Roslyn

For all you pink lovers
I give you Roslyn

She's very dainty.
She's in perfect condition (no chips) and needs a new home. Any takers?

Her new home will be revealed tomorrow. Good luck.

And the Easter basket tea-cup will be heading off to live with Robin Larkspur fromhttp://purrrrsnickitty.blogspot.ca/. Looks like Robin is another cat-lovin', dish-collecting blogger.
Congratulations Robin and please email me your snail-mail address. (debsteckly@catlover.com)

So, anyone who likes Roslyn, please leave a comment.

Did you know that cats are not perfect? They are not. They can be very demanding and quite self-centered. Sounds like I am describing we humans, right. Their proud confidence commands respect. But once they are given love, they are extraordinary, loyal creatures and the comfort they offer their human companions is like no other. I could not live without the company of cats.
I respect that it may be difficult to win the friendship of a cat as it is one that does not place its affections thoughtlessly. But it is most rewarding when you do.

New home for Roslyn tomorrow.

hugs, Deb

  3. Good afternoon Deb, Roslyn, truly is perfect and dainty. Just right for a cup of Early Grey tea. The fine bone china makes the drinking of the tea a much more elegant affair. I can feel my little finger rising, whilst holding this cup. I imagine the ladies of Downton Abbey would thoroughly enjoy a cup of tea, if offered in Roslyn's cup.
    So very pretty.
    Have a lovely day.
    Best wishes

  4. What a lovely name for a tea cup pattern. I can see enjoying a cup of herbal tea as well as regular tea with this.

Cats are such funny characters. They are mysterious and have their own unique personalities. Miss Tork has been very comforting to me since my husband passed away in Dec. When he was bedridden, she got up on the bed and lay beside him a few times and they weren't all that close. They had a funny little relationship, and she comforted him in her own way at this time.

Enjoy your cats, your cups of tea from lovely patterns and your life there with retired guy.

  5. Good morning Deb,
Oh, Roslyn is such a little beauty! She is indeed dainty and would be such good company. I love the florals and brushed on gold. I don't just like her, I love her!

No, cats are not perfect. However, I had a big old Tom cat once whose name was Taffy and he was just about perfect.
Have a lovely day, my friend.

    Blessings and joy,
    Sandi

  6. Oh my gosh, Deb!!! Thank you so much for the adorable "Easter Basket" tea cup!! I am thrilled beyond words! I promise to keep it far away from kittens, lol!!!
I am shocked to discover that cats are not purrfect. Who is going to tell the cats?

  10. Try telling the cats they aren't purrfect! Oh my! The tea cup is lovely but I think others love it more so don't add my name! Big hugs, Linda

  13. Such a pretty tea cup and saucer set ! Looks like an old English rose pattern . I see many of these teacups and saucers in the antique shops . Our cat is a loner and can be quite the snob lol but my dog Miggs well she is my cuddle bear , the one that stays by my side and gives me unconditional love ! Some people are cat people and some are dog people and some are both like me ! Have a good day !

  14. I'm addicted to Downton Abbey which makes me think I really must own a respectable teacup for my English Breakfast Tea (that I usually drink out of an old coffee mug). As for kitties...they most certainly are perfect...mine have told me so for years!

  15. Hi Deb. Such a pretty tea-cup. Tea would be very special in a cup like that. After so many years, our Maggie is starting to come out from under the bed when company arrives. She is very affectionate to us, but does not want us to pick her up. I miss the cuddles..Happy Thursday..Judy

  20. I've had 47 cat children over the years, and currently have 22. Every single one of them has been purrfection in fur! The tea cup is lovely and would look delicious in my collection, which, by the way, is in a separate house from the 22 cats!

I just discovered your blog a few days ago, and have fallen in love with it. Thanks for offering me a fun and thoroughly enchanting break to my days!

    1. Hi Francie - I tried to pop over but am unable to get into your blog. I just wanted to say how wonderful that you have been so kind to cats that need rescuing. I know how much time and work it is to care for our animals and I am very impressed when I meet people yourself. Please let me know if there is a problem with your blog as I would love to drop by.

  21. Oh, I agree with you, Deb. Cats do not give their trust and friendship easily but when they do.... I worked for 2 years to win my Lola's trust but it was worth it. We are sleeping companions every night. I don't sleep well without her by my side. The teacup is lovely. Mary A

  22. I love the teacup. What a nice giveaway you are doing. And I know exactly what you mean about cats. You could be describing my Lucy. She was a rescue with a failed adoption in her history and she can be very difficult. I have had her for almost 2 years now and she is just accepting me now. She crawled up and gave me a kiss on my cheek this afternoon. Not sure whether she is really thawing or if she just loves her new scratcher so much that she was thanking me. J

  23. This tea cup collector would never turn down such a pretty cup & saucer, because there is no thing such as too many tea cups. Roselyn is welcome to join my other tea cups any time. It looks like you & Mr Ed are deep in conversaton. He is such a handsome old gentleman cat. I think todays' photo of him is the first time I have seen a Ed without Lily by his side.
Thanks Deb for having this tea cup giveaway. I imagine this helps rationalize the "need" to find a few new cups to add to your collection.
