Sierra was given some very bad news today.
She has been distraught all day today. She has yet to leave her '24 cans of holistic cat food' box and refuses to join us by the wood-stove. I'm wondering if she will ever sit on her porch bench again.
I told her that life was full of changes; beginnings and ends. That someday a new mailman would come along (actually that would be tomorrow) and a new part to her life would begin. She had to just 'buck up' and get on with things. Accept change and hope that she would soon fall in love again. But she's not buying it. She just can't face the world right now.
I may have to intercept the first meeting and give this guy a heads up. He'd better like cats.

I know all too well that cats DO NOT like change. Bailey would give me the "brush off" anytime I moved anything around. Sierra may just need a lot of extra cuddling to get through this--wish I lived closer, I'd be on your doorstep:-D
ReplyDeleteAwww we are sad too, as we know how pussy cats love their routines. As I was reminded at 7am by Poppy telling me I had to get up. After 10 minutes of groaning at me, and one visit to her full biscuit bowl I had to give her a talking to and tell her it was the weekend, and she could relax. So then she went back to sleep.

Every morning when Papa leaves to go to work he gives Harley a treat as she sees him of to work whilst Miggy and I are still snoozing its early when he leaves and a biscuit for Miggy in the living room in her bed , well this morning when we came down Miggy went to get her biscuit and it wasn't there it was on the mat by the front door , well when I asked Papa about it he said he put it in her bed realized that Harley had picked it up and moved it funny cause it is a big biscuit I can only imaging how Harley had to move it ! I do hope this new mail person and Sierra become good friends ! Have a good day !
