The nurse is down for the count

These cute little ornaments belonged to my sister-in-law, Diane who passed away over 10 years ago now. I cherish them and sit them out at Christmas.
It's starting to really look like Christmas here.
The little train was smaller than I thought but it still goes round the Christmas tree and will be a big surprise for Riley. She'll find the switch quickly, I'm sure.

Audrey played for almost an hour with me tonight. We tested out a few new toys and she loves the cat-dancer. She's had her anti-biotics and ate a big dinner. Now, we'll see what she presents in the litter-box. Annie has stayed close to me as she is happy to be home from the vet.
Late in the evening, the kitten got her first real look, up close and personal, at the Christmas tree.
It's all so amazing to her.
This little snowman sits in the china cabinet. We have no snow at all here. It's mild and raining. I bet that surprises a lot of people who think that we are surrounded with snow by now. Well, I'm sure it's coming.

Have a good day preparing for Christmas. I'm down with what seems like the flu. Chamomile tea and crackers are all I want. I'm wondering if I've picked up some South American whacky bug from my adventurous daughter? Bite my tongue.

hugs, Deb

  5. It's that time of year when 'bugs' jump on us since we are so worn out from the holiday hustle and bustle. Rest and I hope you are better soon. Love the photo of Audrey with the tree, so sweet. I love your train under the tree and know Miss Riley will too. Hugs, Linda

  7. Got all teary eyed seeing Audrey by the tree. Her little position conveys her sense of wonder! Oh I want the little family to feel well! We are praying hard for them.
I want your house! It is so lovely! Everything is beautiful but relaxed.
It is really probably a good thing that the train is small. You can add to it without it taking up too much space. Sure as anything, Riley will love it and she'll look forward to seeing HER train under gran's tree in the comming years.

  12. I loved the catch - up on Audrey and Annie. Not to mention the wonderful glimpses of Christmas at your house. The one of little Audrey looking at the Christmas tree steals my heart! And it aches for a world where all kitties will be safe, healthy and loved.

I also loved that beautiful pair of Christmas ornaments from your sister-in-law. Very pretty!
