A new granite cup & thoughts on Good Friday

Sun-puddles were very appreciated today.

and although there is lots of mud around, it was a good, spring-like day to walk the dog.
There were out-door cats around every corner.
This one is smart and stays clear of dogs, no doubt.

I found a little granite cup at the antique shop last time I visited in Almonte. This one came with a lid...bonus.

I love granite-ware. It makes me think of my grandmothers' kitchen years back.
I was thrilled to find a white one and it is in fine shape. It has a nice sturdy handle.
One more thing off my list.
I think I'm ready for Easter all but the dinner. Of course, I'll be vacuuming 'til the cows come home. Goes with the 'love of cats'.

Tomorrow is Good Friday. As a Christian,  it is a  day in which Christ's death will be remembered with solemn prayers of thanksgiving.  It is a paramount event in the Christian faith.

Hugs, Deb

  14. We are actually starting to see some brown here. Still lots of snow but I am hoping these warmer temperatures get some of it melted.
Wishing you a most wonderful Good Friday Deb!

  15. Our inside cats like to lie in sun spots too (sometimes I join them). And the pic of the black outside cat looks a lot like our back yard. We have at least 10 ferals that hang out there... mostly solid black. They are behind the trees, in the bushes, on the porch, and several that stay *high* up in the treetops.

  17. Our cats love sun and hunt out any patch they can, at this time of year in particular.
I think what you call granite ware ...we call enamelware ...hard to believe we speak the same language sometimes....and yes it makes me think of year past too. My bigest memory were pie dishes and pie plates ...and jugs of all sizes used by my Nana.Cups in it were used for outdoor use when I was a kid ...boys tended to take them camping.

  22. Greetings to you dear cat lady.I was thinking of you yesterday, and wishing we had, not a cat-sitter, but a dog sitter, nearby. I, too, am a Christian, so it is a very blessed time to me as well.
