An Easter Tree

Is she not the cutest thing when she's asleep? Ever since Audrey saw the tea-cup chick (and I don't mean me) she sleeps now with one eye slightly open just waiting for the right moment. Will it survive over Easter? I doubt it.

When you have a bit of Irish in you and your Grandmother was a Scot...you may have a stubborn streak.
I dressed up my Easter tree and it is staying inside this year. I know I might be kidding myself, and a certain somebody just may find a way to swing from the spandrel to play egg-hockey, but I am not putting it outside this year. No way hosay!

I told her I'd give her one of her own. See, I'm nice.
An itty-bitty one with non-breakable Easter chicks & wooden bunnies hanging on a branch.   Are you laughing yet? Does the saying 'The World Belongs to the Cat' come to mind?

Easter is my favorite time to celebrate and having a tree for Riley & Bradley to enjoy is a must.

The vase was my mothers and I use it every year at Easter. I never worry really about the ornaments as nothing is breakable. Most are made of wood.

So, wish me luck. Still laughing, aren't you?

I'm joining Claudia for A Favorite Thing at http://mockingbirdhillcottage.com/ & Sunny Simple Sunday at http://sunnysimplelife.blogspot.ca/

hugs, Deb

  8. If you want a chance for that vase to survive, I'm thinking you need a water gun! With batteries! The vase and tree are lovely.

  15. Such a wonderful Easter decoration. The vase is so pretty.
Here in The Netherlands we use curly willow branches.
I am happy my cats (3) never played egg hockey. I hope they won't get any ideas this year ; )
    Have a great day.

  16. Audrey is so pretty! And your Easter tree is lovely. I know Jingles would be having a field day with the ornaments. She even gets on the dining table and scoops things out of bowls just so she can chase them around the living room in the middle of the night. :) Have a great day. Tammy

  19. Oh Deb, sometimes we humans just have to take a stand!! Hopefully it will survive Easter! I've done many "adjustments" for the cats in my time so I completely understand! Now that teacup chick....it's done for! hugs, Linda

  20. I've heard of Easter trees, but can't recall seeing them before.

Audrey is a cute sleeper. Must be plotting about that teacup chick. Such an inviting target...

  21. I have always loved Audrey from the very minute you shared her with us. She's such a character, always has a something up her sleeve look upon her face, maybe because most times she does ...lol
Sweet little trees, the grandbabies will so enjoy them, maybe not so much as Audrey ;)

  25. Well... the world does belong to them doesn't it!?
Ever since Bonny and Clyde came to live with us (own us as slaves...)our eastertree and our christmastree as well has strictly none breakable decorations only.
See... it's very comon... even in The Netherlands.

    LOL,

  27. I fear for that beautiful vase. I know the fuzzy chick is a goner.

  28. The chick doesn't stand a chance. You'll find it under the couch next time you pull it out to vac. I have my fingers crossed that she prefers her own tree to the pretty one you've done for the grandkids!

  29. Oh, that tree is lovely, Deb! But that chick's days might be numbered....
