Spring you seed...

Hi everyone. We have had a busy spring and the gardens are in and the weather is fantastic. We could use some rain but have been enjoying the sun and high temperatures.

Here's what's happening at Fox Grove right now. I'm a bit obsessed with dahlias this year and have planted a row in the veggie garden to enjoy. They bring in the pollinators which will help grow the vegetables and add colour to the plot.

Our birdhouses are filling up with house wrens and phoebes. We have no swallows at the moment but hope they pick a house or two to raise their families soon.

Finally out of pots and into the ground.
The dahlias were grown from tubers and kept in the potting shed for six weeks or so.
Now the fun begins.

Beautiful Cora

Planning a mischievous day.

The 125 year old outhouse
(moved three times since in use) lol

There is still lots to do before the heat hits. We are building a small water feature in the garden and planning to add blueberry bushes along our fence-line.
And, of course, there's always grass to reseed.
It's hard to find time for the house right now but living in Ontario only means "blink and the weather changes" so we will carry on outside as long as we can.

Cora is doing very well now after a year of fighting allergies.
The photos I am showing you were taken this last week. She is back to her old self and I am so thankful to my vet and her care.
Wilson is over-the-moon having her companionship again.
He truly loves her as do we.

I hope everyone is enjoying their holiday with family and friends today in the United States.
It's so good to see covid rules loosening up now.

Have a lovely day everyone.
be kind, Deb

  1. You could have garden tours; you have such a lovely yard!

  2. Wonderful to see your flourishing plants. It'll be fun to see
the full size dahlias later on. Hope they all do well and look 1/2
as good as Cora and Wilson, lol.

  3. Hi from not so sunny Carlsbad CA. Happy to see the news!

  4. Those two kitties are such sweethearts.

  5. So glad to see your spring update! I ALWAYS enjoy the tour of FOX GROVE and your update on everything. Cora looks beautiful!

  6. Oh Deb, you have been so busy, and it shows. Your garden is simply beautiful. You amaze me getting pictures of little birds peeping out at the camera. I am so jealous of your outdoor wood stove. That has been a dream of mine forever!! I'll have to drag Poppy in here for a look, make him feel bad. :) Maybe one of these days. Cora looks so big and healthy and happy. I'm so happy for her, and for you. She is just beautiful. Well, so is Wilson. Been looking forward to a post from lovely Fox Grove. Take care and love to you all.

  7. It's wonderful to see both Cora and Wilson! I'm so happy to hear Cora is doing better. Everything around Fox Grove looks beautiful, happy and busy! Your dahlias are going to be gorgeous. Enjoy your summer Deb! xxx

  8. Love from me Ria 🍀💕🍀

  9. It's beautiful but the best part is seeing Cora and Wilson -- together again! She's such a cute petite thing and he's so handsome!

  10. Cora's fur looks so soft--I want to reach in and touch her. Spring comes on in such a rush--cleaning up from winter, sowing seeds, setting out plants. Its a busy time wherever one lives.

  11. Your garden is beautiful. I especially love the bird houses. I really want to build some of these myself. Hopefully soon I will get some recycled timber and I can make a few. I love this time of the year too. Long days and warmer temperatures gets us all outside where we can be so grateful with the beauty of nature which surrounds us. Sending hugs to you and your family and especially to those much loved kitty cats. xx
