The week before Christmas

Christmas is fast approaching.
Wow...like a whirlwind, really.

                                         My critter tree
                             complete with an out-house. lol
The book is titled How To Avoid Hunters.

The week before Christmas is my favorite time with friends gathering, scrumptious dinner parties and the last of the mad rush. I love it all.

I've been warning this guy that 'good enough' might not cut it with Santa so he's really trying to behave for the big guy. A catnip mouse has been requested along with his freeze-dried chicken pieces. I hope he gets it. lol Why? Because my little tree is still standing. Bless his little heart.
                                   "I've been good....I think"

My birds have been treated with Christmas cheer at the feeders. This sugar pine-cone made the perfect addition to their feeding station as it holds peanut butter, seeds and large shelled nuts for those that like to eat on the fly.

Some of our family returns from Disney World on Friday just in time to prepare for Christmas. Lucky us that they will drop in on their way home for a pizza dinner so we can hear all about the trip. :)

construction...
The cheater bath looking through the walk-in closet through to the bedroom.
Today the mudding is completed and the scaffolding comes down for now.

I hope everyone is allllllmost ready if not done. It's good to take a bit of time-out before Christmas (even a few hours) to relax and take in all the beauty of the season.
I so look forward to having all the family together; especially those five little grandittles.

Clawdia and Picatso have just left to buy Christmas bags. Wrapping gifts without thumbs is very tedious. :-[

Enjoy the next few days but take some time out for you, too.

be kind
Deb

  4. I am working the rest of the week, then off until January 2! Woo hoo! Our temps have been average, with below average precipitation. I worry that the snow will hit in HUGE storms, just to make up the difference, but there isn't a single thing to be done. Hoping to get some reading done during the holiday! Merry Christmas, Happy New Year to you and yours!

  8. You are getting the walls up in the house! Yay! Maybe you can move in this Spring? Annie and Wilson won't know what to do with all the space. I love that last picture of Wilson! Male cats really know how to sprawl out and get comfy. Our big boy, Zeus, does the same thing. Enjoy these magic days Deb!

I think our cats are always polite, haha! In their own way, haha! I think he deserves for a gift anyway :D
My cats will get some gifts too. I've ordered small minky pillows for them. And I'll add some tidbit for each one too :)

  12. Oh Deb, you have made my day! I laughed out loud about your warning Wilson that good enough might not 'cut it' with Santa...then seeing that picture of him. That face! Looks like he is worried that he hasn't been good enough. Your critter tree is adorable! It's perfect!! and I've got to show Poppy that outhouse with the deer. I was out with Shelby yesterday; she was shopping, I was tagging along, but I spotted the cutest thing. I've simply got to send it to you. It will never make it there by Christmas now, but it will be on the way to you very soon. It's just something small. Merry Christmas to you all!!

  17. Merry Christmas Deb to you & your family. I know that Wilson & Annie have been very good kitties & well done for leaving the tree alone. So far my fur girls have been quite well behaved around both our trees.
